QUEST MODDING TUTORIAL
youre gonna need a computer for this.
there is two methods i know of.
1: run pcvr on your quest using virtual desktop.
cost: $40 for both gtag and virtual desktop, 20 each.2:
apps:
monkemodmanager
gorilla tag
file explorerget monkemodmanager.
select bepinject and utillaopen file explorer
move the files from monkemodmanager (the bepinject one) and move it to your quest gorilla tag files.
now get mods and put them in your plugins folder
i havent tried this but ive met someone who has , so im not 100% sure it works.

cost: $40 for both gtag and virtual desktop, 20 each.
Note that you can also use a long usb-c or usb-a cable to play via oculus link. You could also use airlink (for some people itâs not stable while virtual desktop is, and for otherâs airlink is stable but virtual, desktop isnât). Note for either one youâll need a good *DEDICATED* 5g connection and your computer plugged into the router via Ethernet cable
Also thanks for making this tutorial
i dont use ethernet, but im getting one very soon. ill update wether the difference is good. note for like everything here, my gtag runs well on virtual desktop, though kinda laggyish at some times, at others its silky smooth. my computer is a m1 mac with windows installed through bootcamp
Oh, thatâs cool to hear. Didnât know you able to use VD without Ethernet, I just assumed you needed Ethernet like you did with airlink
you dont need it with air link either, ive used it. maybe thats why it sucked for me lmao
Yeah, not a necessity with airlink but itâs not a consistent or enjoyable experience most of the time, to the point where it practically is a requirement
when i used it bc my virtual desktop wasnt working, it ended up crashing without closing. my inputs were delayed a whole minute so i tried to quit back to quest while literally guessing where my hand was. also, my head movement was delayed as well. i would move my head and a minute later see black bars everywhere.
Yeah, probably because you didnât have Ethernet. Could be something else though, idk
Glad VD works well though
