Who cares if they represented themselves badly? Doesn’t mean you can’t support them.
It does actually mean you don’t have to support them.
You CAN obviously still do but that would be not logical.Lets say you have 2 groups who have the same beliefs.
Group A smashes everything in their path during a protest.
Group B peacefully protest. This gives a person all the reasons to not support group A although he beliefs in the same thing group A is fighting for.
Although this example is over the top, it still gets the point across. The movement is the political stuff The community, in my opinion is the people.
This is the officsl definition of the lgtbq+ community.
“The LGBT community is a loosely defined grouping of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, LGBT organizations, and subcultures, united by a common culture and social movements”Being part of the lgbtq+ community automatically makes you part of the social movement. You may not be actively helping the movement, but you are increasing it’s power by stating you are part of them as it’s a union of the culture and movement.
May seem weird, but that’s how the political world works.Edit:
This is my last reply,
It’s bloody 03:49 and I got classes to attend to tomorrow + a 5 hour shift.

It’s just a community of Lgtbq people? What’s bad about it I require elaboration
Well the lgbtq+ community is a social movement to gain rights making it a political effort.
Every social movement mostly has a structure and the lgbtq+ seems to not have it, there should bd a leader to fight for it or a group of selected politcians, but the community depends on other people to fight for them on political ground.
That’s why I don’t specifically like the lgbtq+‘s structure. In my eyes the lgbtq+ has represented themselves badly.
This is just due personal reasons such as the distaste in riots, blocking roads and other non authorised protest. -

I meant the assholes
I get that , but the term “homophobic” indicates the whole opposition instead of just the assholes.
I did it cause most likely the phobics are gonna come by and downvote it too oblivion and post in the comments I am a pedophile lol.
people who say stuff like that should get a back hander to oblivion. Them lots disgust me.
While I may dislike you slightly and find it pretty stupid you disagree with people being happy, I shall accept that opinions are opinions.
I don’t know if this is meant to be directed towards me or if the “you” is used to direct to the people who are against you, but
Let me state that I support gay rights and all the other things, but not the lgbtq+ community. By community I don’t mean the members itself, but the structure of the group and how it represents itself.
If it is directed to me for some reason. “ you disagree with people being happy”. As I said I support you and them. I disagree with people cussing out one and other. This is referring back to “fuck you if your trans”.
As this is political, it should be kept mature and professional. -

I never understood these flags
besides the main lgbtq+ flagWhat’s the point of having a flag for each individual thing.
Ex: the queer flag and the non-binary flag. Doesn’t queer mean non-binary as well? Correct me if in wrong please.
Politically seen its stupid as it makes themselves a bigger minority by doing that. Not only that, it even makes it harder for people to understand the concept as it adds more to the confusion already. (Confusion to the people who don’t understand it, for ex the elderly).
politicians who are against it will benefit more from it instead of the lgtbq+ community.
They should really stick to one flag to become a stronger force to the opposition.
if you get me.Secondly,
you saying “fuck you if you’re homophobic or transphobic” is just not appropriate.
I see it pretty often and it’s something that shouldn’t be said.
It’s the fact that the term homophobic and transphobic gets thrown around so much it lost it real definition.Let’s say the lgbtq+ is the coalition and the people who don’t believe in transgender and being gay are the opposition.
“fuck you if you’re homophobic or transphobic”
This basically means fuck you if you are the opposition. Does that seem appropriate?
It should more be like “ you don’t agree with us but I accept it”. Just like the opposition mostly accepts them. If you exclude the memery of stupid kids.
I can see why you don’t like the opposition (obviously), but there still some respect to be shown from both sides.
Disagreeing doesn’t mean to lose respect for each other. All I had to say
And for the record,
This is by all means no hate towards you or the community OR the anti-gay/trans people. -

Challas is a dutch slang word meaning “bye”
As challas is an actual word I added FRL to clear up confusion when using my name (on dutch platforms).
