yeah Skintar’s weakness is his curse pretty much, his taken abilities
theres a whole story behind it but yeah, if he loses his taken abilities his body begins to fail

lemme explain it to you
so the taken are any of the races/species in destiny lore that were “taken” by Oryx, the hive god (small g 😉
anyway, he bent the light and made it dark to take people’s will from them, basically turning them into mindless slaves only to fight for HIS will.
Skintar was taken after a deal he made with Oryx, he lost the bet and Oryx took him
but not fully..
Oryx saw his potential and after a while he gave him back his sentience, allowing him to move and think how he’d like but at any time Oryx could retake control. (so if Skintar didnt obey him he could still have his will be completed)
after a long period of time where Skintar served Oryx as a general of his taken army, Oryx made him ascendant.
through a painful ritual he gave him the scar that made him ascendant, (his back right eye) but being ascendant came with a cost, he had to kill to stay his bloodlust coming from the scar, but the scar gave him power if he did.
so skip even further down the line and Oryx dies from the guardians. Skintar is released from being taken but still retains his scar on his eye
now that he’s had years with it he knows how to control it, if there is a way to control a curse.
so he can tap into his former taken abilities to use them against his enemies, however using this ability too much will make him fully taken again, but losing this power will also kill him.
ANYWAY sorry for long post I just like to share my vision with people of my movie ;D

but yeah no Skintar has been through a lot in his past, so this movie is going to be a emotional roller coaster for him, he’s going to be back with a vengeance though at the beginning and you’ll see why >;3
