Group will be privated soon, maybe around next week.Some notes:
– A majority of the denied entries like, actually sucked. I only slightly hesitated for like 10% of the actual denied entries because so much of them were like “my first animation” level quality. Take a look at “merry madness” on YouTube results and click the ones with like 3 views as reference for how bad a majority of them were, and it’s mostly why I thought the collab would be a flop.
– The collab didnt flop fortunately and I’m thankful for that. If I could describe the quality of this collab, I’d call it inconsistent. It has very high highs but very noticeable lows, if I’m being honest. But I’m glad it’s at least acceptable instead of being Demonbot’s Christmas 2.
– I got a really bad flu while editing and had a deadline to get it done, so it’s why the editing looks fairly sloppy, but I couldn’t do much about it. I also despise looking for Christmas songs now and it was horrible looking for them.
– I prefer Treasure Trove a lot more for it’s consistency in quality and will very likely be going back to a similar formula in the future if I get to host another collab again.Thank you for your participation. If you have any questions, I’m willing to answer them if I’m able to.

Squi’s bedside manner leaves something to be desired.
Instead of “sucked” he means to say “thanks to all who entered, unfortunately the quality standards were very high so obviously not everyone got in, and only the best of the best were selected”
It ended up great, I agree TT seemed to be “better” but from what I saw from at least two of the “usuals” who were absent from this collab, they were busy with irl/school/end-of-year stuff. That likely is a contributing factor.
I’m curious what do you mean by “a similar formula” as TT in the future? Like what was different here? THe prompts for both were basically “do anything” but TT had the restriction of having to start and end at the same point.

i liked the whole flow of TT being one semi-continuous thing, it really flowed well if i have to be honest and kept most entries an actual “surprise”, not to mention the better entries from nonex and etc.
next collabs that are under my belt will very likely be still “do whatever the hell you want” collabs, as fighting collabs are very stale now, but TT was a golden idea that i genuinely cant believe is something i came up with
MM was definitely a lot more ambitious, giving full creative freedom to everyone, but seeing as it led to more inconsistency with the quality i’ll likely go back to using one single background / setting again, also because it was significantly easier to edit
will very likely start thinking of new stuff in february / march depending on my schedule

also ngl the plot of this one was a little contrived, the idea was there but i like it to be a bit cleaner and less completely wacky with “there’s a random floating teleporter gun and a giant red button sitting there”
if you’re up for it i’d love to do a collab centered around utilizing sprites in some way come march, using that term i told you over DM’s as it’s pretty good for such a theme (using sprites because there’s “too many nodes”)
yeah the plot for this one was not my strong suit since christmas is difficult to think of for a theme since its so specific
as for sprites i dont really wanna focus on any app features in specific because i think that kinda limits the “creative freedom” thing im going for, i’ll very likely just try and think of something more of the same formula that lets people do anything they want to achieve a specific goal
also a non-seasonal collab would be interesting but i wanna take a month or two off before actually getting back to work again because i got college and school stuff to do, so very likely gonna be a summer collab 2 again im guessing, or at least a collab within that timeframe
i also never want to do a christmas collab ever again i hate finding christmas songs
i think the plot was good but just coulda been executed in a more sensible way but it was still fun
well we got time but i think just having some sprite object(s) be the centerpiece of the next collab won’t be restricting and allows the collab to nicely advertise SN’s hit new feature (i need to get some kind of return on all this free-ass money i’m tossing out)
but yeah it won’t be til march/april so whatever
