Questions regarding the Files app for IOS. I found a bunch of zip files in here. I feel like they’re doing nothing but taking up space, and I’ve already extracted the figures from them, so is it safe to delete these zip files?
In this same folder also lies all of Stick Node’s mp3s. Can I import mp3 files directly into the Files app and have Stick Nodes let me use them in my projects? This is because I have a crap ton of sounds I want to import all at once without doing them one by one.-
If you already clicked them all to get them into the stickfig library, then yes it’s safe to delete them. Just make sure that the actual figure itself is saved into the library before you delete it
-
yes once they’ve been extracted you can delete them
as for why they’re there, idk to be honest
when you download a zip, there is a /temp/ folder, that is where it gets downloaded to
then the extraction happens, etc, and every time SN starts it clears the /temp/ folder
idk why these ZIPs are just chilling seemingly outside that folder

Yeah I would imagine so. So the pc version would be less of a port of the mobile version and more of a rebuild from the ground up again?
-
@ralph
Do you think it would be possible to implement a sort of clipping mask over stick figures?-
a very useful feature, just like layers, but too complex right now for what SN is capable of
it’s possible but would require massive overhaul
i’ve mentioned before this and layers would be good SN PC candidates for new features

Oi @Ralph m8
Is there any way to disable the pop ups that warn you about how many frames your project has? -

Movie clips are only 100 layers long at max. It’s not the same thing.

That’s fair. I would imagine by that point the memory usage would be so high that you’d need the processing power of a PC anyway
-
Alright I know this idea is a bit out there, but I can’t stop thinking about it. What if there were layers to an animation project? Sure you can layer stick-figures on the canvas, but I’m talking about animation layers. As in, two completely different animation timelines in the same project where you can add and delete frames from one timeline without affecting the other.
-
lol you don’t have to explain layers, its a common tool in animation software
its just, i didn’t plan for it when developing SN all these years, so to implement it, you’re looking at basically starting a whole new app from scratch
which is why i’ve said in the past (personally, i really want layers too) that layers would be an SN PC thing if/when it happens

@ralph
Why is this message still here? The most recent iOS devices support and play gifs in the photos app. This has been redundant for a long time, actually.-
People who don’t update their iOS shit I’m guessing ?

tbh at this point Mr TJ is right, iOS is pretty good at making their users upgrade unlike Android where half the users are still using like 2012 Android OS
i’m just too lazy to find the text and delete it tbh

Probably since theres still a ton of users who use old ass iOS devices that cant handle gifs,
I used to be one for the longest time

Yeah I don’t think it’s lag. I only have four figures on screen plus a movie clip. Three of the figures only have one node each, the movie clip only has one node and is set to single-frame mode, and the last figure is a humanoid shape with 6 poly fills. It shouldn’t be enough to make an IPad Pro lag, so I’m not really sure what’s going on. My iPhone X runs it better.
-
@ralph
My guy. Do you have any idea why I have to drag my finger halfway across the screen before the node I’ve selected decides to move? My iPad does this and it makes it really tedious to animate ._.-
It’s called “lag”
-
is it lag or not? as in you have a lot going on on the screen so it’s obviously lagging
if not
um
kinda sounds like it may be a device thing? a setting maybe?
because i mean, nobody else has reported this …-

go to the “app settings” in SN and mess with settings for stylus on/off and the other touch sensitivity related sliders
(stylus on without a pen will be hard to use)though i don’t really think it’ll help, it might trigger something to fix itself

How come there are certain stickfigures that always load back in when I open the app even after I delete them? - Load More
