To be honest I don’t think I have ever seen or heard of an animation application so weird as Stick Nodes.

What I mean by this is traditional animating from what I’ve seen, is that you draw the people or whatever it is and animate it frame by frame whereas Stick Nodes has like Pre-Drawn/Assembled nodes that connect up to make a Character or Background or whatever, this is quite outside the box. In a way it works but can also be quite frustrating at times with the node limit and lag from device but overall if you know what your doing you can get the job done quite nicely. With all these new weird wacky features that are being added I think Stick Nodes will be become quite a largely used and highly praised application.

With Movieclips so much more is going to be possible with Stick Nodes animating such as shadows, pollen and animated backgrounds. It is definitely going to be a nice change in scenery for animations and is going to be fun to mess around with, I am very excited for 3.0.0.

If Stick Nodes continues this way with the cool weird features being added it’s going to be top notch. With PC as a potential thing to be added it will really help Stick Nodes.

@ralph nice work so far and keep up the good work, also thanks to @arcionek , @dezway and @heckray for taking the time to test out the features and make sure it is ready to be used, thanks everyone.

    • Oh btw this is like a little rant thing about stick nodes, I don’t know why I did it, I just thought it’d be nice to take some time to appreciate how far stick nodes has came so far and how far it will go.

you’re supposed to be comedy relief but all I see are a lot of bug reports and it makes me sad and nothing funny to alleviate it so-

    • It’s most comparable to 3D animation. Where you animate a model through a rig.

yet it’s still 2D animation which is the fun part about it. Unless you go through the extreme length in detail to make it 3D then SN would be an undescribable animation app

Funny thing is. Many years ago Ralph was thinking of using similar thing to sprite illuminator for SN. Though you can assume the problems that would come with it

    • honestly

I’d like to take credit for it, but without Pivot I’d have never thought of this

I believe Peter Bone came up with it, something about he or his brother (?) would “animate” with MS Paint, so he wanted to make it simpler, and thus Pivot was created

but I know of an ooooold 90’s website with a “game” that had the same premise, 1 figure, 5 frames, and it would tween from frame to frame

      ANYWAY

yeah SN is unique in that it’s kind of like a bridge between Pivot and Flash and that’s my goal

if SN PC ever happens boi thats gonna be next-level

and then Adobe will buy me out and i’ll be ri

I am more concerned how much SN will change if adobe has it… Like Logo… UI and stuff-
