Today I finished playing all three Yakuza games I own.

    Yakuza 0 – The origins

Yakuza Kiwami – The remake of the original which came out for the PS2 (gives you perspective how long this franchise has been running)

Yakuza Kiwami 2 – Once again a remake only for the second one this time though.

The story of these games were phenomenal, really showing character development, plot twists, new locations, side characters, the expanse of the Yakuza clans and families and sub stories to top it all off which tend to be wacky fun side missions to complete along side the main mission.

Here are some of my favourite substories:
    – Protect ‘Miracle Johnson’ (No-copyright Michael Jackson) from Zombies
    – Dance off with people
    – Fake Kiryu (Beat up an impersonator of the protagonist ‘Kazuma Kiryu’ and his associate)
    – Cabaret Clubs, specifically Four Shine, here you can earn a over cool million each time through your hostesses who satisfy customers, there are also championships, in which I have completed one and plan to complete them all.
    – All ‘Majima Everywhere’ battles and appearances
    – All Komaki training challenges

The franchise has canonically 8 games from Yakuza 0 to Yakuza 7: Like a dragon, i’d recommend giving as many as you can a try, they are worth investing in and you’ll have countless hours of fun.

On a last note, the gameplay.

The gameplay in this game is packed full of wacky, intense, brutal and weird fighting styles, weapons and heat actions. I don’t want to go too much in detail so I suggest watching scenes for yourself on Youtube or just playing the game. My favourite heat action is the one where you lift an enemy upside down, jump in the air and slam them into the ground head-first. My favourite weapon is the Demonfire Knife which Majima uses. My favourite fighting style is beast from Yakuza 0 and rush from Yakuza Kiwami.

    That’s all.

    • plus, the devs used their engine from yakuza to make Fist of the north star: lost paradise. they even had a trailer with kiryu transitioning into kenshiro and kiryu dlc for the game.

I believe they even had similar music tracks as well.

Fist of the north star and Yakuza both share a song ‘Receive You’.
