Tbh, I couldn’t find it in the community creation policies myself, but this is the conversation where a Fandom staff member told me its against policy. Interpret it how you want:

update on the sticknodes.fandom.com wiki that I was trying to get for y’all:
I requested for it to be closed due to profanity and inactivity, and Fandom staff did in fact close it. But it did not open up space for a new wiki to replace it like I assumed that it would. I requested that it be reopened so we could adopt it, but they denied the request on account of NSFW content on the wiki.
Some additional points that they made:
– The sticknodes.fandom.com URL might never be made available again
– A wiki on the Stick Nodes community technically does not align with their community creation policies,
– but a wiki on the Stick Nodes app is a perfectly valid wiki -

it wasn’t my wiki, but anyway, it’s gone now, and according to Fandom staff, the url might never be made available again, so the idea for using that wiki instead is dead now anyway

damn, sorry about that, I’m not sure what could be happening that’s preventing you from downloading it
actually, maybe it could be something wrong with my Firebase security rules. I’ll have to check on that

It still works on my end, but maybe I goofed something that doesn’t let it work on Safari (or maybe iOS in general? 🤔)
If you can, maybe try it on a different browser

I honestly think it might be easier to get the dead wiki closed than it would be to adopt it, so I suggest putting in a request to have the dead wiki closed. (actually, I’m going to do that rn)
And then once it’s closed, you should be able to make a replacement wiki with the same url

Nah, you don’t get what im saying. Fandom has a policy where if a wiki is very inactive, it is eligible for closure or adoption.
I’m recommending that you take over sticknodes.fandom.com since the Fandom team would most likely let you.
unofficial-stick-nodes.fandom.com is clunky to type. And if I’m being honest, official-stick-nodes.fandom.com is also clunky to type. sticknodes.fandom.com seems like the best option imo

Sounds like there might be demand for an external png-sequence/video -> movieclip converter once the update releases 🤔
Maybe I should start reverse engineering the movieclip format…

I noticed that sticknodes.fandom.com is eligible for closure:

It hasn’t had any edits in the last year and is clearly a dead wiki. I suggest that you just replace that wiki instead of maintaining an “unofficial” one if you’re serious about this tbh. I’m sure the Fandom team would be happy to close the dead wiki.
-
Well that’s not good.

Honestly it perfectly encapsulate the sticknodes community

I think arc said he mentioned it to you, but yeah, awhile ago I was messing around with replacing the filters you built in with my own custom ones. I didn’t really do anything particularly cool though since I was new to GLSL.

Reminds me of the effect I got when messing with custom shaders

Okay so random thing but ig I can explain why I haven’t asked Ralph to make this server official yet. There’s 2 main reasons:
First reason is that I wanted to first make Snode much more feature complete as a way to make the server stand out from all other SN servers. Sure, Snode posts all newly uploaded stickfigures daily and can retrieve a random stickfigure from the site for you, but I wanted Snode to do much more. (Oh wait no nvm, the recent site changes broke these features, so Snode doesn’t even have those anymore 🥲)
The second reason is the bigger reason: moderation. If the server were to be made official, bad moderation could have a negative affect on the SN brand and reputation. Current moderation on the server is not necessarily “bad”, but it’s not really that good either.
Until I can figure out these issues, I don’t think it’s a good idea to ask Ralph to make the server official.
Edit: also I just haven’t been paying it much attention in general tbh

Well in that case
I may quit my job as an editor as I don’t use the app much

Thank you
A wiki on the Stick Nodes community technically does not align with their community creation policies
So what now
That’s up to you and how you interpret what Fandom staff said (see screenshot I attached in reply to Manny).
The way I see it, you can either make the wiki focus on the app itself and be 100% clean or you can make it partially about the community anyway.
If you make it partially about the community despite what they say, I doubt they’ll notice it unless someone reports the wiki, so you would probably be able to continue it for a while. But anyone could report it at any time.
Another option is to find another wiki hosting service where such a wiki is not against its policy.
