Honestly, choose what you choose. An OC should be mainly inspired by your imagination. Of course, inspiration from different things is always beneficial for an OC if you’re going for a certain look but it should, at it’s core, be something of your creation. That is what an OC is, an Original Character that YOU made.
Asking for outside help about an OC could help you, but letting people dictate what makes YOUR character basically defeats the purpose of it being YOUR character. Note down some basic ideas to form a solid foundation and idea of what your character should look like and THEN branch out and experiment with different ideas, some you may think of yourself and others proposed from the community.
Essentially, base your original character on primarily on your ideas, not others. Unless that’s what you are going for of course.
