Contribute to the Stick Nodes Stickfigure Library!

Hey guys, big shout out to Sean Byrnes who just single-handedly set up the backend for a stickfigure submission system for the Stick Nodes website.  Mr. Byrnes has been helping out with a lot of the behind-the-scenes work on both the Stick Nodes app and website and I really appreciate his time.

As you can see, there are two new pages, one for the stickfigure library and another for stickfigure submissions.

If you have any cool stickfigures you want to share with others, head over to the submit page and submit them!

  • The submission form only accepts .nodes files or .zips.
  • If you have any cool Pivot .stk file(s) you want to submit, you can convert them to a .nodes file (import and export it from the Stick Nodes app) and then submit it.
  • You can also just wrap your .stk file(s) in a .zip and submit them that way, I’ll convert them for you.
  • Please ensure your .stk file was made with Pivot 2.2.7 or lower. You can use Pivot 4 to down-save them if needed.

Hopefully in a few weeks the library will be full of new and exciting stickfigures for you to use in your animations.

I plan on releasing an update to the app that has a built-in submit feature in the near future, so look out for that!

iOS Updated to 1.2.3

Just a quick note that iOS users can now enjoy update 1.2.3 and the export-to-mp4 feature.

Also different in the iOS version is the fact that exports are now saved to the camera roll/photo album by default.  This is for easier access for users, since iOS users can’t explore their SD card as simply as Android users.

Just a note that animated .gifs will appear static when viewed in the camera roll.  By default, iOS will not play back animated .gifs unless viewed in a browser or attached to an email/message.  So while they appear static, I assure you they’re most definitely animated!

New Version (1.2.3)

The new version of Stick Nodes has just been uploaded to all Android marketplaces.  This updates has a few miscellaneous fixes and tweaks but the main addition is the ability to export to .mp4!

This was a highly-requested feature.  Now, users can immediately render their animation into .mp4 video format and upload directly to Youtube from their device!

This feature is only available in the pro version, though.  I know – I’m just a greedy little developer.  To be honest, this is a little “gift” to the current and future pro users.  A bit more reason for them to have purchased the pro version rather than to just get rid of ads and the watermark.  Besides, it’s just $1.49 for the pro version anyway!

This update will be coming to the iOS App Store in a few days, I want to track any issues and if everything is good I’ll be submitting it in a day or two (factor in the review process and this update should be live by early next week).
