Since humanity's birth, the precepts of right and wrong have bickered and fought. One may believe they have the power to decide which is which, to tell light from dark, but that notion is flawed.
And so it falls to one being, the the Divine Judge, the only one who truly understands that good and evil are one in the same, both are equal parts human nature.
