well here is a brief explanation.
there was once a 9 year old boy named "Tobio" who's father, "Dr. Tenma" was the head of a very technologically advanced science board called "The Ministry of Science". one day Tobio and Tenma got into an argument, and toby ran away in a robot car. the robot car had gotten into an accident, and killed Tobio. Tenma was devastated, and decided to rebuild his son as a robot, and did. but the robot wasnt like others, it had a human soul, "Cocoral" (a program so robots feel emotions.) The robot was then raised by Tenma, but Discarded by him later.

He was never supposed to have a Netflix Original Series. He was supposed to have a reboot, that is apparently still in progress.

First, i dont need a reason to make what I want to.
Second, he is not from the movie. The character Astro Boy is over 60 years old, and is also known as the First Anime Series. He isnt from the movie, hes from the old anime.
I can see why you thought that, most people under 20 dont know who Astro Boy is.
