Uh? You heard of proactive policing? It’s where the police stop crimes before it happens. That’s what Police Gang Units and Narcotics Units are for. It isn’t a coincidence when the NYPD disbands it’s Gang Unit. Crimes spikes up. People became more bold when the NYPD got defunded and NYPD Gang Unit disbanded. What happens is criminals sees that the police are being defunded so they go out doing crime. Because they know the police aren’t as effective without their proactive units and their money. Majority of the budget goes to the payroll of the officers. Once that supply line is denied or lowered. Officers don’t want to work as hard. You know why? Because they’re not being payed enough. The LAPD reported earlier this year that 98% of their budget goes to the pay of the officers. While the rest goes to cars, guns, trainings and etc. Proactive units work by trying to get rid of guns. Guns are a tool that criminals often use. Proactive units go after the buyers mainly so that the guns can’t be sent to the others. I do agree that will poorness you do become desperate. But it’s not impossible to get out of the poor zone. But when you’re getting welfare checks why would you want to work when you’re getting free money? Especially with unemployment pay from the US Government. Right now by doing that we’re just making everyone poorer. The economy is wrecked but printing more money will make it worse. Discrimination is a thing but it’s less now that way before. The response you see at riots is because well they’re rioting. It’s not peaceful to block cars, throw bricks and fight with people on the streets. That’s why the police come out with their riot gear. When the police tell them to leave they don’t leave. That’s why Tear gas, flashbangs, foam baton rounds, rubberrounds, pepperball rounds, and other non lethal weapons. Rioting doesn’t benefit anyone. It makes people even more poor and ruins livelihood. How many black family’s had their business destroyed, looted, and burned down? A lot. They often don’t have insurance because it’s pretty expensive. Plus black workers at big chain store will get laid off. Why would stores want to stay if you become a target? If the stores stay they have to pay. Insurance can’t fix and pay for everything. How can insurance agencies pay for it if they can investigate it. It’s too dangerous for insurance agencies to send investigators. They will be attacked by the mob. In my opinion I would be happy if cops had to only patrol the high crime rate areas. You know why? Because they would be wasting resources and money. You don’t want that do you? Paying more taxes on officers and equipment when you don’t have to.
