First appearing in the 1970 film "Gamera vs. Jiger", Jiger made her most recent appearence in the 2023 Netflix anime series "Gamera: Rebirth" as one of five monsters pitted against Gamera. Appearing in the second episode "Under Current", Jiger is a lizard-like monster with a scrawny appearence and an oversized head, covered in pale maroon skin.

Her most distinguishing features as her tail dorsal sail, a sharp spike at the end of her tail, and the many horn-like protrusions on her head. Her eyes are a violent red, with a third eye on her forehead. In the episode, there were initially multiple Jiger, which then cannibalized themselves in order for one of them to grow to a massive size. This giant Jiger did battle with Gamera, using her flexible tail to repeatedly stab the guardian beast. While she had the upper hand for a bit, she was quickly dispatched when Gamera held her in the air and superheated his fists, burning the monster alive.
