The single most versatile ancient weapon and arguably the best of all.

Taking the best parts of the axe, the hammer and the spear, the poleaxe (or it's larger cousin, the Halberd) is a work of medieval genius. It's axe head provides a lethal weapon against lightly armoured foes, it's angled shape allowing it to also hook onto armour to manipulate your foe.

The spike at it's top grants the Poleaxe excellent defensive capabilities, keeping the foe at a distance to stab between their mail and/or gambeson. the hammer on the other hand can help to bash onto an enemy's armour, granting a concussion or straight up breaking their bones.

All this paired with the Poleaxe's long shaft allows it to become a truly deadly weapon. out reaching the deadly edge of the Katana, bashing away the lenghty spear and hacking and hooking through the defenses of a shield and sword.
