Scyther is a dual type bug/flying pokemon first introduced in gen 1.
Scyther is based on a mantis and although it has the flying type it was never given the ability to learn fly. Scyther is the pre evolution of Scizor and even though it evolves it still keeps the same base stat total. Scyther is a very hard hitter especially if aerial ace is paired with technician and swords dance.
It is one of the best bug types in the game but is inferior to its evolved form, even so it can still beat the hell out of a lot of other pokemon.
