Man, that grinds my gears. Tutorials like that are just a demonstration, showing people the basics so that thye can tweak the design of the fig, or in this case, hair. It bugs me when people just straight-up copy the thing in the tutorial, because it just emphasizes laziness and a lack of creativity.
