Aww shit, here we go again. Welp, I guess I’m back to doing rants now. At this rate, I’m probably gonna finish the subsequent one during the next century. Well, I suppose no time like the present, or should I say “3 AM when you can’t sleep and you do literally anything you can think of even though you have homework to do because school sucks. ”

You guys know what D&D is, right? Y’know, the game where someone wants to rob you, someone wants to kill you, and someone wants to screw you. (Only two of those happened to me tbh) I’ve heard of it for a while, but I’ve only managed to start playing during this lockdown. It’s pretty damn fun, what with all the action, forepla- I mean roleplay, and penetrat- I mean conversation.

Jeez sorry, I dunno what came over me while writing that. Anyway, I already got a lot of funny and weird stories last year alone, so I’m kind of excited for next year when we can *hopefully* go outside and socialize again. And by socialize, I mean just looking at my phone while my classmates do shit together.

I can remember my first DND game like it was yesterday. Then again, I don’t even remember what I ate yesterday. Well, anyhow, I recently joined the official Dungeons and Dragons Discord and was looking for any servers that I could join in. And seeing as school was just a horrible memory, and not a clusterduck of crap yet. You can bet your sweet patootie I spent way too much time there.

In my future games, I even woke up at 3 in the morning just to play. But for my first campaign, it was a different story. Since most people lived in a PST timezone, I just had to wake up at about 8 AM to play! Sometimes I could even play during the evening if the DM (Dungeon Master) and the other blokes were as bored as me.

It didn’t have an overarching story like most campaigns, and we just kind of dicked around. Now that I think about it, though, I’m pretty sure we dicked around too much to even find the fecking story. I picked my Dragonborn Paladin Veradux (not the Skyrim kind) as my character, but I replaced him with my Aarakocra Ranger Merrick (big bird boi, basically a furry Hawkeye) after the first few days.

But even after that I once again switched characters, finally going with a Goliath Monk I named Aparath (if you thought that was a dumb name let me tell you about my Elf Bard Loranos) Anyhow, the highlights of our sessions include: Me defending a shack against a horde of zombies as Aparath with Ricardo, yes, that Ricardo, me helping kill a Troll with Titanfall tactics with Ricardo, my handaxe getting stolen by another party member, and me going John Wick for my handaxe by capturing said member.

Those were some fun times; but unfortunately, as with what eventually happens to anything you do for a long time, I got bored. So I started to barely chat on the server anymore, even though it was growing with a few members each week or so; and really only accepting 1 quest a month. I ended up leaving the server entirely, which still holds up as one of my biggest mistakes for a long time.

I tried reaching out to the owner of the server and my old party members a few months ago but it looks like the server’s done for. Sad to think of how much fun I could’ve had if I just took a break instead of leaving. Maybe if I was more active I might’ve prevented the server from becoming dead, or atleast dying at a later time.

But anyway, as Dr. Seuss once said, “way too goddamn overused quote” I could probably make like three of these just tackling my DND stories alone, but I still have some stuff to do. So as always, see ya mates, you’re some of the greats. G’bye
