when i was younger I messed with GameMaker to make small dumb stupid games (its still around, but much more advanced now) – you didn’t need to know code
then, since I was into animation and Flash, I kinda just started messing with ActionScript in Flash – eventually leading to me making Flash games, like 5 or 6 or so over a few years
fast forward to 2012 or so, I moved onto this new-fangled stuff called “mobile devices” and made a quick game for that, first time messing with Java but it was very similar to ActionScript
then in 2014 I made Stick Nodes by accident
tl;dr – just started by messing around making things for fun, led to a sort of “job” as I made small Flash games to sell for a few hundred or thousand $$$ each, then moved to app/game-development and Stick Nodes
its not as difficult as it seems, especially in today’s age with Youtube and 500000 tutorials on every subject you can conceive of
