Just straight? Like the word “Alliance”? that’s bad. Even “Platinum Alliance” doesn’t have as much of a ring to it as “Platinum Squad”. Your brother has a mid opinion, PS is the classic name and it’s much more original.

Personally, I like Platinum Squad
…after all it’s your team, Do what you want with it
For me, both of them could be what a person would like to call it. One person could call it platinum and the other could call it the alliance.
But if you still want to have one definite name, I’d say go over several words with your brother and nieces until you agree on one.
If I were to choose between two of them though, I’d say platinum squad since it sounds more original. The alliance sounds slightly cliche, kind of like a supervillain group.
