Either way, high school is a much more self-oriented experience. No teachers babying you, not as many chances to get yourself right. It’s more about responsibility and preparedness for college, where you’ll live on your own and do everything on your own will and time. Highschool’s work is harder, and you’ll be expected to keep up.
As far as socials, the environment is sometimes more toxic, but in a different way. It’ll be bigger, and harder to make new friends. Most of the kids around you will be rushing to grow up, which might lead them to do some grownup things you might not agree with. But mostly it’s chill if you find your niche.
It’s harder than middle school, be ready for stress, but also more fun and freedom.

this is probably applicable to all stages of life, but things seem way bigger of a deal when you’re in the moment than they will later on in life
i remember also being like “wow, high school” etc (same with college even)
