Nice, at least it’s got some personality to the designs now, keep at it and don’t let the difficulty of it initially drag you down.
You can definitely output some good work, you just need to try, that’s all it is with you.
All the best
Yes, see now that is a bigger improvement in my opinion. You’re now giving more life to your character.
The top hat and casual suit makes it feel as if your character is a civilized and well mannered individual, whilst the colour can connote that they may be a silly individual at time to time, going out of their way to do some silly shenanigans.
Yes I agree on the face needing some change though, it feels rather uncanny having human like eyes with pupils. If you stick with two purely white circles, I’d wager it would be better. Though I am not too sure on it myself, as once again. This will be purely on trial and error and how it looks. In terms of visually appealling to you.
Right now. I’ll say, this is good. For a first version of the character. This is a vast improvement as now you can see that they are two different characters, now not only from the colour, but also due to them having different clothing attires.
Now, I will give you these suggestions.
1. Improve upon this more, try and get a feel around with sticknodes’ round segments and polynodes and such.
2. The sketch is good. I like it, it gives a character to your OC. Try and now copy it from a sketch to the actual app itself. I will be more then willing to help you on that note, giving you some tips and such.
3. Make a new sketch, this time, for the sister. Give her, her own unique clothing style and the likes. For this. Think on how she’d act. What’s her personality? What does she like? Is she always a silly individual or is she a serious person that likes to be silly very rarely? Use those thoughts you’ve had for making that character, and then draw clothing that would match her personality.
An example being, you saw that drawing of my character right? Cropped overall jeans, puffy orange jacket, beanie and a shirt with logo? My thoughts behind that was simple: a goofy individual that enjoys music, mostly rock music. Likes to walk a lot, specially in winter, but also likes to stand out a little.
Now how do these translate to character design and clothing design? Simple: puffy jacket and beanie- “walks a lot specially in winter”
Enjoys rock music- “shirt with logo of a smiley face with red crosses over the eyes”
Likes to stand out-“cropped overall jeans.”
This is an example of my thought process. Try it this way first, see how it goes for you. And just do what you feel is right.
I wish all the best on your future endeavours and good luck.
I know you’re going to make awesome figures, all you need to do is practice and take it your own steps, don’t rush things. Rushing only makes it worse.
