If I find a really detailed fig, chances are, I won’t download it. An example of the fig thing is one of those giant guys Gigan is remaking.

creating art is not abt getting approval from as many ppl as possible + left looks dope and visually striking
1. The old one is extremely messy , how the hell is that version simpler than the new one
2. Jade and many others have talked about how many of my older figures are better
And I couldn’t give half a shit. I’m not remaking them because I feel the need to fill a quota , I’m remaking them because I want to make MY characters in the way I SEE THEM.
My series isn’t going to be made to get popular or to get downloads , etc
3. I’m making my series and my characters because within my small little brain , I’ve come up with a ton of characters and a story that involves them
These remakes are specifically , WHAT I WANT , it’s how I see my little silly story playing it , it’s how I imagine my silly little characters

They may not look the best to you or anyone else but I couldn’t give a shit if it’s over detailed or under detailed or poorly made , it’s how both of us want them to exist as
I’ve pretty much had this series “idea” since second grade , I’m currently in college. Ideas change
Just cause you like the old one , doesn’t mean I should stick to the old one. I still love my old figures but it’s designs that me and her have personally put aside for old memories in pursuit of making characters WE love
I’m not remaking these for public use and not even for public showcase , I’m ofc still posting em here casue I like the community but it’s not work I make for anyone here , it’s work for me and my partner , it’s our series
It’s the characters we want to create , you have no right to question why I should remake them.
You have every right to feel that the old ones are better , that’s fine

What a stupid ass take, we make figures – art even – for ourselves before we even think about other people. Gigan here absolutely isn’t doing the latter, and honestly good on him because god forbid he tries to appeal to your standards. God forbid anyone tries to, because a big thing about art for some people, not everyone but SOME people, is pushing ourselves to do better and not sticking to the same old simple shit. How do you expect anyone to improve if we remain content with what we already have? I’m thankful he’s not making figures specifically for you, and it’s honestly quite idiotic of you to look at it from that angle. I doubt Gigan gives a damn what you prefer, it’s ultimately up to him if he wants to put it on the site anyway. Simple or not, he has a vision for what he’s looking for, and the best thing we can do as a community of artists is PUSH each other to find a style we’re most happy with.
