I’ve been running some animation tests over the past couple days. And recently animation as a whole has started to finally click for me. Not sure why it happened so randomly though now it’s starting to really make sense.
Below are 3 animations. 1 being 2 test moves which I made first. Another being a combination of moves. The third being pneuma swinging from a rope like a pirate which I made today.
The former and ladder I enjoy, pretty happy with both. The combination however I think I could have done better with more future planning. I ran out of space in SN to work with and really didn’t want to redo the whole test. By the end of it I was pretty tired so basically gave up. Plus I used the hurt animations as an excuse to try oversells so Riot’s moves lost a lot of impact
Thank you to water drinker for the animation references you sent, those defiantly helped.

Animation is truly something that just “clicks”, yk? Like when you think about it, you’ve developed and trained a part of your brain to analyze movements and recreate them or make them on your own in a certain style or fashion. When you see CGI or game animations, theyre not just mere movements anymore. No, they’re much more appreciatable when youre at a certain point where you know the process of animation. It literally just CLICKS. Once you make some great anim, you’ll just keep feeling the need to make more.
For me, it means alot to me. What started as me playing with Stick Nodes like theyre action figures back when I was 6, turned into this great hobby that then eventually turned into something even greater. I started learning 3D animation which lead to me trying to learn how to code so I can put my animation skills into a game. And what’s crazy? It was all because of Stick Nodes. I truly appreciate this app and how it’s led me to a great hobby. I didn’t expect to write something like this in a comment, but I’ve wanted to express what I think of stick nodes for a while now.
