hey, any ninjago nerds wanna give me their take on the dragon forms?
i remember watching the episode in which it happened and getting so mad about it because they just.. came out of nowhere and it felt rushed
mostly because it seeemd like they were losing, and instead of finding some way to win, master wu just brought out this random powerup out of nowhere to help them win, which is eh in my opinion
they could have like, gone into their nrg forms for a comeback or something, that would have been much better than the dragon form
or what would be even better, airjitzu AND nrg forms
to be fair, the dragon forms do look like the nrg forms in terms of the torso piece, but i think that a better way to integrate the dragon forms would have been to start with nrg and evolve from there
was kinda silly though for them to say “oh guys the way to do it is to jump up kick back whip around and spin omg its like a callback or something!!” i thought that was cute

What season did these dragon forms take place in?
I stopped watching after season 7
ok there were 2 shows (on netflix)
ninjago masters of spinjitzu and then the remaster which is just ninjago
it was season 4 episode 30 of ninjago
Ngl I think most who watched and remembers Ninjago remembers the OG show, particularly up to like the elements season with Shen ( I think that’s his name ).
All dragons are created awesome
I have only watched season 1 to season 13 (the shintaro arc I think) so idk
season 4 was absolute dogshit. it was good at the beginning, a bit suspenseful
but the ending was shit. out of all a sudden theres like 30 tournament contesters that make OP dragons and have a “final epic battle” consistent of like 40 people or sm shit. then those tournament guys were never heard of ever again and they just moved on to a new plot
then they kill off the human garmadon at the end so unneccessarily
ninjago, all and all, was great until after Season 10. it should’ve ended at season 10, it was great. the graphics looked incredible, and the story felt like a good ending. season 8-9 (the remaster) was still technically the same story, if not better. the show started getting much more suspenseful and intense during 8-9.
idk why they felt the need to reboot it AGAIN with season 11-15. they keep milking the show and the plot feels bland now. its genuinely so obvious and predictable. Bad guy shows up, end of season, hes defeated. character dies? shows up an episode later. then they made fucking garmaddon get mad over his plant dying. went from the lord of the underworld to a fucking joke. they made him have a perfect ending in S10 finale and idk why they had to do him dirty like that
tbh season 13 is an exception, that one was great. it was a tribute to the actor of Cole (he died due to severe health issues)
im a ninjago nerdout btw 🤓
im not a nerdout what seasons are these like namewise
wdym, rephrase please?
okay sorry, uh
like, seasons usually have names (example crystallized)
so uhh find names for the ones like season 10
S1 was about the snakes and the bigass snake
S2 was about garmadon and the stone statue ppl and the island, golden ninja, and all that
S3 was about the technology stuff and the futuristic stuff
S4 was the tournament with the shitty ending
S5 was about Wu’s old pupil coming back as a ghost and taking over Lloyd, learning Airjitzu, and all that
S6 was kinda shit, about the sky pirates and the whole Jay/Nya stuff, was kinda cringe
S7 was great, about the two time traveller guys (Crux and Acronix), Wu’s past, Kai and Nya’s family, the Vermillion snake army ppl. Wu also “died” but actually just went back in time and became very younger
S8 was the light remaster, was about the weird ass syndicate obsessed with return of Garmaddon, Lloyd’s obsession with stopping Garmaddon. S8 was the best out of them all and the plot felt rich and enjoyable. Young Sensei Wu also appeared (young wu was meh until S9)
S9 was about Kai, Jay, Zane, and Young Wu being stuck in the Oni land, the place before Ninjago was created by the first spinjitzu master, it had inhabitants and they were savage scavengers kinda like Fallout or smth. Half of the plot was split between Lloyd vs Garmaddon and the other wasteland realm thing
S10 was supposed to be the finale with the oni attacking them. It had only 4 episodes and it had a total time of 90 minutes, it was the finale and moreover a movie split into 4 parts. Wont try to spoil it but it was great
S11-16 i forgot most of them. S11 was about the ice realm place and some weird guy taking over Zane
S12 was absolute dogshit, they were stuck in a arcade machine and their outfits were actual garbage
S13 was alright, was a tribute to the actor of cole since he died. Was about the shintaro dungeon and the rock lava volcano place with weird Orcs inside it
I forgot S14, I think it was the one about the weird mystical island.
S15 was about the underwater people (i think)
S16 was Crystallized. Kinda dogshit, theg brought back Garmaddon and practically nerfed him. The ending made no sense and it was a dumb way to end the story by bringing back the Overlord, he died in S3 and S3 had a good ending. They made the Overlord an average petty cartoon villain who gets defeated easily.
Ninjago: Dragons Rising is the new Netflix series and it is absolute shit. They made the characters a discord-looking e kitten and a weird ass Fortnite sweat looking teenager
wow i truly am a ninjago nerd
Sorry for the delay to write this, I had state tests and stuff
no yeah ok i understand now
time to write a response
i think that all of the seasons were pretty good, except for the sky pirates, that season was boring
but overall they were doing a really good job with the og series and keeping it consistent, i like how the sky pirates seemed to flow effortlessly into the time shenanigans one
and the remaster was great, i like how they kept it the og series by saying that lloyd just went into puberty, keeping the whole entire rest of the series instead of some full reboot
they fell off at crystallized and dragons rising (i havent watched dragons rising)
crystallized sucked bro like, it was going good at the start with the villains and stuff, and then out of nowhere they bring back the overlord and THEN they bring out these NEW RANDOM POWERUPS that could have been SO MUCH BETTER
Here’s how I think that crystallized could have been better:
they were losing, right? from what i can remember the ninja were losing, what they could have done instaed of the weird power up, was found a way to unlock their nrg forms and find out how to get airjitzu back
after getting their nrg forms, wu could tell them to try to do the “jump up kick back whip around spin” thing and then, you know, enter some kind of superpowered nrg form (no, NOT the dragon forms)
i think that would have been a better way ultimately to end off the season instead of just, random powerups
how would i fix the overlord?
well, i dont know really
with the fact that they brought garmadon back, we could have a deja vu type thing with some kind of giant garmadon stone mech as seen in the first season of the reboot
or, we could have gradually hinted at his appearance in EARLIER seasons, maybe that would have made his appearance more uh, logical
Tbh they completely damaged what they had going on, theres no fixing it. every srason after 10 was just this random new villain and they all get forgotten the next season.
I just realized another thing, wtf happened to airjitzu
They had an entire season with half of it being dedicated to lesrning Airjitzu just to forget about it like a season later
4 days later, google apparently says this
“A possible explanation for why the ninja stopped using it is given in the could-be-canonical novel Way of the Departed, where it’s stated that Airjitzu draws on Edo magic, a dark form of Magic. At one point, the Hageman Brothers joked that Airjitzu was erased by a Cloud Kingdom writer.”
I liked season 4 :[
