The only real pushback I have on this is that, at least in my experience, sexual urges are not simply just wants; the urge for sexual pleasure is more similar to the urge to urinate (I know, it’s humorous, stay with me). His analogy of a man threatening the life of a loved one if you give into the temptation doesn’t fall apart, but is more realistic if you view it this way. On top of that, the situation in the analogy is happening WHILE you are having urges, it would be more realistic to say that the man says that in ANY POINT of your life, if you give in, he will kill your loved one. Yes, it is ENTIRELY possible to resist temptations like this, but let’s not downplay how INCREDIBLY difficult it is to do so.
This is something you don’t see everyday. Interesting.
Great conversations here!
Oh boy, here we go. I agree with Nate’s assessment.
I try my hardest to practice this every time I speak to someone. It can be EXTREMELY difficult, but this is exactly what I believe God wants us to do.
One of the many reasons that I’m not a Mormon.
Exactly!
Wow, I never thought of it like this.

I have a question for you, Jumphoops. What motivates you to share Christian-related videos and ideas on this site? I’m curious why you post this content specifically here. I can understand sharing religious stuff and opening discussion on platforms, but on an animation site like this one must come with specific reasoning
hes been here for apparently 7 years and made this group 6 years ago
i looked through his activity and he used to post some sticknodes stuff
though, like ive always said and will continue to say
christians SPECIFICALLY will do ANYTHING AT ALL to spread the word
theyll go everywhere
youtube shorts, tiktok, sticknodes (for some reason)
thats one of my big gripes with the christianity thing as a whole, along with just
being bigoted in general but you arent ready for that
Your response seems to generalize quite a bit.
There’s nothing wrong with sharing content about something you care about, as long as it’s done respectfully. Sharing information you believe in isn’t inherently negative.
Every platform, including this one, hosts a mix of content, from entertainment to politics and various opinions. Singling out Christians for their evangelism/teaching overlooks that many groups share their views passionately across different platforms.
Regarding bigotry, labeling an entire group based on some individuals’ actions is itself a form of bigotry. Every community, including ours, can seem biased from an outside perspective. This interaction could also be seen as bigoted, as you’re sharing your view on Christianity despite my question being directed at Jumpshoops.
In a public forum, everyone has the right to express their opinions respectfully. If you have the right to share your views, then so does he. So it’s hard to point fingers when we can all point the same fingers back at ourselves
Bigotry exists everywhere and isn’t limited to any single group or belief system.
And this is way too much text. Me rn:
its not just “some individuals” it is almost every single christian that i meet
and by bigot i mean, you know
against lgbtq+
This is a big generalisation and that is quite bad. There’s quite some christian individuals here: i dont see them post stuff constantly. Just because some people are open to a conversation doesn’t make them wrong.
by bigot i mean, you knowagainst lgbtq+
And what? They would call you a bigot for supporting lgbtq+. With a mindset like this: We are all bigots. Words like these are killing conversations and make people unwilling genuinely listen to others. Its because we all need some Jesus
Especially some ussers
Well, this all originally started by me talking to an atheist on the site, the conversation(s) got heated, and I made a (originally private) group to separate the people who were okay with having these conversations from the ones who weren’t. Years later, I grew up (both physically and spiritually) and realized even my own views on God, Jesus, the Bible, etc. were wrong, so now I do this. There have been plenty of times when I think about not posting on here, but I believe that doing this motivates me more to actually study scripture. Without the motivation of posting on here, I’d be playing through the Batman: Arkham games for the umpteenth time, not trying to understand God’s Word more.
That’s not the reasoning I expected but it sure is a respectable one.
Keep pursuing that motivation I’d say!
