I went into today’s session with the intention to change the colouring and some other things, so that the new design would pop a little more..

Something I remembered is that I wanted to essentially layer the colours of the new Lemon design so rather than working with the [ Base colours —> Out ] I would instead do different layered shading for the specific area. This way with things like muscle, the darker colour is the part that the abdomen or chest for example, would fade into, so it would stand out more.

I realised that in order to make the whole Stickfigure pop, I’d need to apply this throughout. I had to go back to the drawing board using the old / most recent head you’ve seen and use that as reference to structure highlight spots and shaded spots so I can sort of work backwards and layer the colours, much like how certain art pieces do.

I’ve created the design and I have already begun putting this new plan into motion and I honestly think this could be a major game changer in the quality of my work.

I don’t want to share anything yet, not until I have something substantial enough to show, but so far— it looks really cool.
