i wouldn’t say so, vocaloid or vsynths in general have a massive following everywhere (especially in japan), it’s just that the most prominent in the EN sphere is flavor foley / jamie paige from what I’ve seen, which leads to them generally being the more popular recent picks for anyone newly getting into the medium

dont quote me on this though i got into vsynths years ago from the jp scene so im not too familiar with how things are for en producers 😭
