Eh.
They make good games, this circle-jerk has no sustenance.

AND I’M NOT TALKING ABOUT THE GLORIOUS ORIGINALS

1) i check every single notification i get so @’ing me on a reply/ my own post is unnecessary.
2) i myself have played the original Star Wars Battlefront I and II as well as EA’s Star Wars Battlefront. I hated their first one so never bothered with II and from the drama arose from it, I’m glad i ignored it.
Battlefront I and its godlike brother Battlefront II are much like EA’s except with twists that made it fun for the player and gave you everything. Want to drive a tie fighetter? Well there’s one right next to the spawn. Want to play as Darth Vader? Well just play on an appropriate map, git gud and boom, Vader’s yours!
With EA’s, you had to run around looking for these silly little icons that gave you a vehicle or hero, no effort needed. II was even worse, only giving it to those who had RNJesus on their side or had tons of dosh. It was an insult to possibly my favourite multiplayer game of the PS2 era.
I myself have only played EA’s Battlefront I only 3 times and for good reason, it was absolute s**t and felt nothing like the original i’d missed for so long.
I’ve considered buying the original 2 to play on my 360/One (if the One if compatible) just to relive those days i spent in a 100 v 100 battle to capture all the control points and beat my dad at it (he beat me every time but if i got it now, I’d probably annihilate him lol).

Owie, lots of text
So i’m just gonna copy paste a genius’ remarks here:
I completely understand that people didn’t like the pay to win system at the beginning of the game’s release, and I totally get that. But what I don’t understand is that it was pretty much fixed on the second day of the game being released, and yet people still think that it is pay to win. What else is wrong with the game? NOTHING, except from star cards like the supercharged sentry. But that stuff is going to be fixed. Every game is unbalanced when it first is released, and that is okay.
The problem I have with what this guy is saying on reddit is that he didn’t look into what you can actually get in loot boxes before he wasted $80 on them. FYI, you can’t get heroes in loot boxes. Plus, it’s no big deal that Vader is still locked. I got him in less than 2 hours during the full release of the game. In my opinion, it’s ridiculous that you would ask for an $80 refund just because you didn’t get exactly everything that you wanted. I think what EA was trying to say was that there has to be something to work towards in the game, and that is definitely true. They may not have said it in the best way, obviously they didn’t because the reddit users seemed to think that this was the most ridiculous thing in the world.
So why do I think people hate this game so much? Why has it become gamer’s testing ground for a game to laugh at? After all, most people (including me) that play the game are happy with the way it turned out. It’s probably because everyone is getting on the anti-EA bandwagon. Everyone seems to despise EA for some unknown reason. If this game was made exactly the same by a different company, everyone would love it. So many other games have pay to win systems, much more so than battlefront 2 does. But just because they are made by a different company, no one hates those games.
Anyways, this is a great game, and I know I’ll be having much more fun playing this game than all of these other people. And while they may love those games, I think that they should give this game a shot, despite the pay to win system that only even lasted one day. So if you want to laugh at me for siding with EA, fine go ahead. But just know that this one of the best games right now, and is just being overlooked for no good reason. EA gave the community what it asked for, and doesn’t deserve all of this backlash.
Okay, here’s me again, done with the copy-paste.
A company has to make money too. As i’ve seen on many trailers, it has phenomenal graphics. I’m sure we know how expensive it is to pull that off.
I don’t know the difference in-game, but i’m sure there’s at least improvements since the first game. If not, then i’m wrong.
We’re looking for gameplay which why we buy games, i only buy a few promising ones, BF hasn’t been on my radar so my credibility is a bit low. Let me get that off.
If those that can be acquired only through purchases are OP, ok, that’s bad game design. But, if those were cosmetics, no real argument can be made against that.
This was an even wall of text, also i’m probably never buying BF lol, i’m finishing Mario Odyssey.
