The ‘this group is private af only members can see the description’ thing is probably a big problem for groups like thicc nodes with quite strict rules you need to follow before requesting membership.

the description there is used mostly as a way to not only promote the group like most but before promoting, it warns of what’s lurking inside, warding off younger audiences or those not into that kind of thing.
