Sorry for me taking 8 DAYS to load (yes i’m an extremely large & old computer now) but yeah:
KOF games
96 – Pretty Good, it was enjoyable, with the soundtrack, mechanics (my fave because it allowed charging for supers), but the controls were too tight, making it basically impossible to atleast get a 3-hit combo without rekkas (connect moves) or moves that have more hits, and that’s what kept me from coming back from it again, the whole artwork was beautiful and attractive, but that control problem didn’t make me enjoy my experience, it feels like a chore to play because of that
To put it simply, “6/10 bad controls but everything else is beautiful”
97 – The Controls here are a step-up by a (insert distance of 92 football fields)
than the previous game, the game felt more atmospheric than all the other KOF games because the BGM is mostly background – based and character themes only play when the character appears and ends when they lose (e. Kyo = Esaka Forever, plays when fighting kyo, ends when K.O-ing kyo), and the bosses, Oh, i just can’t say how good and exciting it was fighting them, there are 3 bosses (one team boss); Orochi Iori (if not selected Iori) & Orochi Leona, the semi-mid-boss, the New Face Team but with their powers from Orochi, and Orochi, i just can’t describe the mood they express while fighting them now, i’d recommend playing it to experience it, and each bosses’ soundtrack just helps set the mood even more, to put it simply: “A Solid 9/10”
And i got lazy with the rest
I’ll just post 2000, 99 & 98 some time (full review like 96 & 97) and Garou
But heres /10 scores
98 – 7.9/10
99 – 8.5/10
2000 – 10/10
2001 – 4.6/5
2002 – 7/10
2003 – 3/10

Eyy glad that you’re enjoying the whole thing! Though I wish I could play those games to understand more about what you’re talkin about. Plus, they seem fun, especially Kof 97 and their animations all look beautiful (well, everything I’ve seen from the series is gorgous)
Mostly I’ve been going back n fourth between goin on a nostalgia trip with Tekken 5 on the PSP and exploring more characters on Tekken 7. Just recently picked up Steve, his movement and playstyle is hella fun.
