Nio V6

Greetings figgas, I’ve revamped this character for the 6th time now, hooray!! Here’s to 20 more revamps because I’m never satisfied with anything that I make kekn3dj3jne.

Anyways, Nio! One of my earliest OCs, and finally at a stage where I feel happy with her design. It was a pretty rough goal to get to with her hair and all that, but I think it’s alright. Main things that have changed since her last figure are as followed:

•Revamped Body/Base
•Revamped Face
•Slight Color Tweaks
•Longer Shorts (Too much leg last time)
•Better Shoes
•Headphone Postion Changed (so she can hear)
•Other misc details

Now, this doesn’t really apply to just Nio, since I’ve been revamping all of my OCs with these changes, I just haven’t finished them, but I really do think I’m happy with it.

The faces, especially the rounded segment eyes were something I’ve wanted to change for the longest time, as there was not a lot of expression you could do with them. My only problem was finding an eye shape that fits with my style of figures, while also not being too over the top, but I think I’ve nailed it.

I’ve also been wanting to fix the anatomy of the characters, since their legs are like really long for some reason idk why I’ve been doing that for the past 3 years, they have like abnormally long shins lmao. Also their ginormous feet, though I kinda liked it since there was more focus on the shoes and it felt kinda stylized, I recently thought it looked a bit weird after drawing a lot more and figuring out that the feet should indeed be smaller, so I scaled them down to a more reasonable size, and I actually really like the way the new shoes look too.

Lastly, I’ve been toning down on the small details, I feel like it’s way harder to pose the characters and make multiple angles of them with so much to paste to a different view of the figure, so I’ve been trying to make the characters a tad flatter, by using less gradients and stuff, and making the back limbs the same color instead of a darker shade because it’s “behind” (I’ve been doing that for a long while but it still applies)

VERY IMPORTANT BOOTLEGGED UPDATE

AAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHey guys, I have made a severe lapse in judgment about how long I estimated this single episode would take, it went from being 4 months, to 8 months, and will probably take another 4 because oh my god I made the worst decision ever of trying to be ambitious and thinking I can make something much bigger than I can handle.

Let’s get to the point, this episode has a 15 page script and has gone through many revisions and I am finally satisfied and have it set in stone, that being said, I’ve only animated 6 out of 15 and the episode length is already 15 minutes long. What does this mean??? IT MEANS IT’S NOT GONNA BE 17 MINUTES WHEN ITS FINISHED, ITS GONNA BE LONGER!!!!!
This is both good and bad news, because now I’m not on a limit and can do whatever the hell I want (with the guide of the script ofc) and take as much time as I need because oh boy do I have great changes coming after this thing is finished. Bad news is it’s now ESTIMATED to be like almost 30 minutes now yay hooray yippee awesome I love working.

After I’m done I plan to make the most short and sweet videos ever because that’s what I’m good at. The next episodes afterwards are gonna be like under 10 minutes or something because jesus christ if I continue at this pace I’m not gonna get as far as I want to. AGAIN, this is entirely my fault lmao, but I’m determined to finish what I’ve started, and also not rush it cause then what’s the point of the whole thing. This project is something I enjoy doing, and I’m glad I have something to work on, but it’s just that I’ve felt like I could’ve been so much more efficient with my time because I spent the whole year on a single video siebidbwkns. Welp, nobody said this would be easy, especially alone. But at least I have you guys to motivate me, seeing cool stuff makes me want to make cool stuff, and it makes me happy.

Also, funny thing is that I’ve improved a lot since I started working on this and now the whole style is getting revamped again once this is finished so each episode is just different figures every time lmao.

But yeah hopefully I expressed myself well enough for you to understand that this is in fact, A LOT, but I’ll get through it.
It’s less about making it enjoyable for others now, and more about making it enjoyable for myself. I’ve never been the “look how convoluted and grandiose my lore for my amazing story is” kinda guy (even though I’ve tried before), I gravitate more towards the “look at this silly thing I made” mentality. It’s more fun for me that way, because I’m already enough of a masochist to myself, I don’t need to keep piling on more things for me to worry about.

Anyways, uhhh TLDR; Next episode is actually almost twice as long as I originally thought it’d be, and also I’m gonna make this thing more enjoyable for me to make later on. Ok that’s all!!! Here’s another sneak peek as a reward for tolerating me:

Yes, hi it’s me again, I made another character for Bootlegged. I’ve mentioned her before whenever I posted that one song a month ago, but her design is somewhat finished!!! Check it out!

Athea Thorne AKA Thea Thorn (wow such a different stage name I know) is a famous in-universe alternative-pop-rock musician (I think that’s the correct way to say it??) that became popular during her early 20’s, and after several years of producing music she became a very renowned artist and icon.

Her design isn’t exactly definitive besides her hair and stuff, so the figure above is just like- one of the many outfits that she’s appeared in and yada yada, I’m still proud of it tho. Definitely better than the previous design I had for her diswnejsjebee.

ANOTHER Monthly Bootlegged Update

HI!! I’m having to write this whole thing twice because my internet cut out just as I finished writing the last paragraph lmao. (You’re all lucky, it was like 6 sincere paragraphs of nonstop yapping, but SN doesn’t want me to be genuine, so here’s a simplified version):

Anyways, new Bootlegged update!!

I uhhh, didn’t really do much, BUT FOR GOOD REASON I SWEAR, I was straying away from actually animating the second half to focus on preparing more stuff for it to look better, like different angles of characters and tweaking the figures with noticeable errors. I also fixed the script of the whole episode because I had imagined and written the whole thing back in December, but after noticing how outdated my writing was, I decided to fix it by making it more.. fun? Look, it was pretty boring, as the episode was meant to focus more on the characters instead of what they’re actually doing lol. Now the plot makes sense and is actually important, wow!!

But anyways, after revising and making new stuff, two days ago I started animating again. Hopefully I’m still set on finishing this by the end of July or start of August (remember when I said I wanted to get this out by April LMAO), then, I’ll have another 5 months to make another episode (that’ll DEFINITELY BE SHORTER), since my goal was to get at least two episodes this year, I just got a bit too ambitious and forgot I’m only one person and not an animation machine with the motivation of a starving artist, so the next episode will be something a lot simpler now that I’ve learned to set more realistic expectations for myself.

Hopefully it ends up being entertaining at the very least. I’m just very appreciative of the support this stupid little project has gotten, you don’t understand how happy I was when the first episode got so much attention, it was such a crazy thing to see in real time, it may not seem like much, but it means A LOT to me, so thank you all (:

Denver & Azure V3

Hi, I’m feeling better, so I decided to revamp these dudes once again, Denver’s old design was meant to be his outfit from when he was on the snow trip where Azure died, but it didn’t fit the setting for Bootlegged (if he ever shows up) which is a small town in the south, so I gave him less bulky clothes and a more coherent outfit. Azure stayed mostly the same, just fixed the blandness of it and all, so yeah uhhh here they are:

[Short Lore Stuff]
If you didn’t read my old post, for a little backstory on these guys, basically I had a dream about a dude losing his girlfriend in a snowstorm, in which she dies and turns into a ghost. I was like “hey that’s a cool idea” so I made Denver and Azure based on that dream. Basically, Denver is the only one who can see Azure, because Azure is soul-bound to him (since they like, love each other or whatever), and Denver is confused on the whole thing and how she even turned into a ghost, but decides to make the most of it. Of course he comes off as crazy whenever he tries to explain to anyone else.

Another Monthly Bootlegged/Life Update

Wow, its already been another month. Time surely flies whether you’re having fun or not, and I’ve definitely had my balance of both this past month. I’m gonna ramble for a bit, so if you only care about the Sticknodes stuff just skip to the second part.

[LIFE STUFF]

I’ve been doing a lot, the past weeks have consisted of me partaking in two things: Art and Music. I’ve been drawing a lot more, I think I’m getting better, far better than I’ve ever been, and it’s nice to have another hobby other than just animation (even tho they’re kinda the same), but you get the idea. With music, I’ve been slowing down on it, I have like one song that I’m sorta proud of, but haven’t released it yet since I was gonna make another short little collage. However, since I haven’t been doing anything I might just upload it by itself, if ever. I DID also make a short little theme for one my characters, but it’s mainly just to fill the silence in the background. Speaking of music, I’ve added some more songs to my giant playlist, some included were “This Is How We Do It” (Montell Jordan, Wino), “SOS” (Rihanna), and “Not Like Us” (Kendrick Lamar). That beef with Drake and Kendrick was such a crazy experience, so I felt like putting one of the songs in the playlist. Also, Rihanna has so many hit songs, she’s probably one of my favorite artists of all time, considering she has the most songs out of any other artist in my playlist (even more than Mary J Blige surprisingly), and also the fact that I literally grew up listening and loving her music, but yeah she’s awesome.

I did have a rough couple of days this month, but who hasn’t been through tough times. Life goes on, you’ve just gotta make the most of it, you never realize how good you have things until they’re gone. Anyways, onto the more cool stuff ig.

[BOOTLEGGED STUFF]

I made a TON of progress this month, the first half is officially complete, with around 8 minutes worth of animation. I’m pretty proud of how it’s coming along, and it only took me about 3 months (besides making figures, backgrounds, and writing the episode) I’d say it’s a pretty productive result. I dunno when I’m gonna finish it, it is most definitely before the end of July, I cannot waste my whole year working on this, I have some other ideas that I’d like to play around with that require a lot less time. I got ambitious but now I just gotta finish it; Don’t get me wrong I still enjoy what I made, just think I made it a bit too long. But hey, it’s coming along nicely and that’s all I care about. My main goal is to entertain so at the very least, once it comes out I hope it’s entertaining enough to watch. I tested this out by watching it all the way through myself (since I heard somewhere that you shouldn’t make something you aren’t a fan of or something like that), and somehow got invested in my own video, so I think that’s a good sign lol. ANYWAYS, final thing for this monthly update is, yup, you guessed it, a sneak peek! Here’s that:

Monthly Bootlegged Update

Hello, hi, it’s me. First of all, HAPPY NATIONAL BOOT DAY!!!! I’m making this update today because of said celebration izveishabw. Anyways, a LOT has been going on, and I have some stuff to share! So let’s start:

Yes we’re starting off with the important stuff, because I have no time to waste. First things first, somewhat of a little change to the timeline. I dont think I’ve said this publicly yet, so now is a good time.
EVERYTHING BEFORE ELEVATOR ESCAPADE IS NO LONGER CANON.
I had no idea what I was doing then, but now I have a good start and am able to fix it. Of course, it’s pretty obvious, but yeah, the first video uploaded to the channel is the first canon episode. Just disregard anything before that ok? (trust me It’ll be way more easier that way) Alright cool, NEXT:

Progress on the animation is going well, I’ve hit the 6 minute mark, and realized I might’ve gotten a bit too ambitious with the plot because it requires LOTS of backgrounds. I’ve managed so far tho, so I think I’ll be fine, but yeah it is definitely not coming out this month, sorry guys, you’re gonna have to wait until June or something idk. BUT HEY, the next episodes will definitely be a lot simpler, I just had a bit too much fun writing and made something pretty long. Speaking of writing, I’ve been rewriting a lot of the story, and making something comprehensible instead of a long convoluted storyline for two silly dudes.

Also, shoutout to Anomaly for helping me out, he’s helped me stay on the right path and deserve some of the credit for the correct decisions made.

Anyways, TLDR; Progress is going well, it’s slow, but progress is indeed being made, I can’t wait to show you all this stupid lil’ video I have in store. Hopefully it’s not too long and it ends up just being boring, my main concern is just making this enjoyable to watch, so I’ve focused some more time on making the animation less boring by stepping away from making the movements look “realistic” and trying to make it more wacky and expressive. Yeah, that’s all tho, I wish I could share some more, but I’ve been working really hard to speed up the process, since I don’t wanna spend the whole year working on this one video, I’d like to at least get another one after this one out before 2025. Don’t worry though, I’ve been working on this through a very healthy schedule (3 day break for every hour I spend animating).

I’ve also been drawing a lot more, ever since Pewdiepie uploaded that one video where he draws for a month, I’ve been inspired to do the same, I’ve done like 25 days already and will probably show off the results when I’m done BUT only the ones I actually like idbx8wbb. Though, I do have this doodle I made a bit ago, so here’s that lol:

Ok anyways, music amiright? I’ve been listening to a wide variety of stuff, my favorites rn being Ain’t Nobody by Chaka Khan and Battery by Metallica, which is why I say wide lol. Of course, my playlist is still forever expanding, but maybe one day I’ll unprivate it so everyone can see my organized mess lmao.

What youre probably here for, I’ve been working a lot on the next episode of Bootlegged, I’ve now got 4 minutes completed right now, and that’s only the intro, so I think this one is definitely gonna end up being around the 15 minute mark, possibly more, but hey, you’ll just have to wait and see.

Something that also happened during production was I watched some other videos that use the same text format that I use when showing dialog and realized not a lot of people can read a three-sentence paragraph in two seconds, so I had to re-export everything with better pacing, good thing I realized this early or that would’ve been really tedious to fix later on.
