Welcome, I’ll do random things here, updates, series, remakes, etc. Not much to say, it’s pretty simple.

Lunite FabricMax doesn’t like wearing armor, but knows he needs some form of protection. After weeks of prototypes and failed experiments, Max figured out that Lunite is very ductile, while still maintaining it’s unusual strength. With this knowledge, he made thousands of thin threads of Lunite and wove them into his battle clothes (right). The only catch is this; because it was made to retain its flexibility, it doesn’t fully protect the wearer. For example, a bullet than still enter his body, but it will be slowed and most likely do less damage if it hits the Lunite fabric. While it’s relatively cheap to make, he still uses it wisely and doesn’t implement it into his normal clothing (left).
I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned this, but before Max, Grodotnites didn’t fully understand how they can use Lunite. Max did a lot of experiments and neat little things, which pushed him up the blacksmith ranks.

@mannyanims you’re good, I just forgot to unban you
My bad 💀

How does it just switch to his left hand when he thrusts it.

Replying to:
It doesn’t

I slowed it down and he doesn’t switch hands
Answered on an Alt due to being banned
This is the only time I will do this Cheese Biscuit, I just wanted to answer the question. Sorry

Replying to:
Wait now that I think about it you might’ve been referencing something else such as how the arm is able to go from side to side without turning his body around or his arm crossing over his body
If so this doesn’t answer anything, sorry

i will never forgive you for this

Alternate Outfit IdeasAlong with the one I mentioned in my post yesterday, here are some other clothes Max will be seen with. I’m most likely not going to add that one hat, but I left it there so people know which outfit that is referencing. It was surprisingly hard to accurately portray his jacket over a shirt, but I think I got somewhere.

I mean it was the best option, everything else didn’t match his face in SN

Decals are your best friend

Replying to:
How so?
-
Replying to:
I use mascara and blush decals on my characters’ faces to make them not look awkward. The eyes pop out with the mascara and the blush gives them a warm sort of feeling.

There are obviously different kinds of mascara and blush you can use, I just chose to do it this way for a specific effect. He also has freckles as an additional thingAs an additional point, mess with the face poses to get the expression you want. Also start fiddling with the head softness

Alternate OutfitsAlong with Max’s Earth outfit (tank-top and jeans, chains, boots, etc), I am thinking about making an outfit similar to the one in the picture. I won’t add the hat, just the pants, shirt, and jacket.
Should I make alternate outfit ^

Old version for reference:

-
i feel like he needs something unique about his face
he kinda has NPC-face with the mask
as for what idk, so i’m glad i could be of help!
-
Replying to:
it sort of is an NPC
Engineers are numerous because most of the Machinists rely on them and Splicers. Because of their importance, they aren’t very combat oriented and remain in their workshops. The mask itself is actually more-so their own version of a standard face mask for protection, like the square-ish ones I used in the old version.

The Engineer is a soft-spoken, amiable Texan from Bee Cave, Texas, USA with an interest in all mechanical things. He specializes in constructing and maintaining Buildings that provide support to his team, rather than fighting at the front lines, making him the most suitable for defense. The Engineer’s various gadgets include the Sentry Gun, an automated turret that fires at any enemy in range, the Dispenser, a device that restores the health and ammunition of nearby teammates, and Teleporters that quickly transport players from point A to point B.
Because the Engineer’s ingenious devices are under constant threat from explosives and devious enemy Spies, a good Engineer must keep his gear under a watchful eye and under repair with his Wrench at all times. When the Engineer needs to get his hands dirty, his trio of generic yet capable weapons, along with the assistance of his helpful hardware, make him more than capable of holding his own in a fight. If need be, the Engineer can even pick up and haul constructed buildings to redeploy them in more favorable locations. While usually viewed as a defensive class, the Engineer has a selection of high-tech weapons that allow him to destroy projectiles or to build faster-deploying, less damaging Sentry Guns, which give him great utility at the front lines too. His Teleporters are also a key point to both the offensive and defensive team’s success, allowing slower, heavier classes to reach the front-lines quicker.
The Engineer is voiced by Grant Goodeve in the game, and by Nolan North in the short film Expiration Date.

Grodot's Enemies, IIII made some more types of our enemy factions here, the Validus and Machinists.
Centurion
These are your average expendable foot soldiers, all-rounded in speed, strength, and defense. Equipped with a Geoform Gladius and a kinetic energy-absorbing Buckler, these warriors are unmatched in resolve.Engineer
These particular type of Machinist focus on making weapons, vehicles, and autonomous robots such as turret bots. They are masters of intricacy, their weapons able to be retracted into a simple shape or object (ex: sword retracts into a handle they can put on their waist belt). In order to more easily do their job, they’ve augmented their entire upper torso, adding an extra set of arms with built-in Telekinetic Arc gauntlets. You will usually see this equipped with machine guns, cannons ripped off of ships, or flamethrowers.Turret Bot
little autonomous robots that have two firing modes. One is a concentrated Arc blast that can easily control larger beasts when these bots are in groups of 5 or more, and two small machine guns on the sides (screw you Heroforge, I can’t add that…) -
Grodot Enemies, IIMachinists, elusive engineers eagerly awaiting Grodot’s apocalypse, focus on making intricate contraptions and hellish prosthetics, replacing eyes, arms, jaws, and organs with metal counterparts. These chaotic Grodotnites were outcast because of their believes and tendency to mutilate animals and other Grodotnites, claiming to bring them “salvation”. Most live in deserts, with some mountains as well. Their head machinist, Phoenix the Splicer, is responsible for creating a few things that heavily aid them. First, an augmented method of Arc wielding that requires grinding down telekinetic crystals (Yellow) and a process of mixing it with other materials and heating/cooling it all to create a yellow energy that has no definite form. It is what is in most Machinists’ gauntlets, allowing them to bend animals to their will. It is also in Fanatics, another invention of Phoenix. These are a high-adrenaline type of Machinist soldier who’s hearts are replaced with an Arc core. Since only one crystal can be owned by someone throughout their lifetime, it is unknown how they get so many Crystal Type Ts to make their Arc, but some speculate it is some godlike entity or relic, which is also the reason they await the end of the world with such glee.
Fanatics are driven by a never ending sense of energy and adrenaline, as well as ambition to climb the ranks from rock bottom. Most Fanatics are either poor, criminals, or some disgrace to the Machinists. They are given pickaxes, some of which can shoot using chain, and a dual-barreled pistol. The ambition and shame of such a low rank causes suicidal aggression, charging into battle with no strategy or thinking.

Do people actually read these
I’m just curious, the main reason I write these is to document lore so I remember it well (and to rant lol) but I wonder if anyone has the patience to sit through and read this

Grodot's Enemies, IThe Validus are a mighty race of militarized humanoids with an insatiable thirst for conquest and bloodshed. You see, Earth in this universe is a bit more advanced than ours. In the mid 1800’s, a massive exploration ship carrying hundreds of humans, Voyager Blue, set out to find other habitable planets in the event of an emergency. They found a distant planet, called Geo. The long space ride with different gravity stretched them, and through time this went from side effect to genetics. The average Validus is about 11 ft. tall. Soon, their urge to explore turned into an urge to conquer. They use an energy source similar to the output of the Crystal, Geoform, creating weapons and armor with it.
This specific Validus is called a Phalanx, part of the battle formation with the same name. They are equipped with a Geoform spear and gauntlet, which can either activate an energy shield or arm blade. Their weakness is also their greatest strength, however. The spear head, completely made of Geoform, can be shot of for a concentrated blast. If you can bait them into shooting it, you can easily close in and attack before they reload. It is important to note that more experienced Phalanx soldiers carry a backup knife for this exact scenario. For this, the best way to counter a Phalanx is aggression.

Remake: Sam CashI still need to make the other faces, but other than that, one of the two high toppers everyone knows and loves been remade.
Now usually I would just remake them normally, but I realize that after a while it lacks creativity. So I added some, taking inspiration from Sam’s barrage punch and made him some cool gauntlets that channel his power (with plates that can open to increase the output). I did something similar for the shoes, but didn’t feel like coming up with lore for that…
@maawoz I’ll submit this if that’s okay with you, enjoy!
