i even really liked the work you did with the credits and photos sliding in lol, that was a nice touchi know we talked about it but yeah, even tho i’d like to i can’t consider this for the competition in order to be fair to everyone else (<2 mins) im sorry :/
there are parts and scenes you can cut down on here and there i noticed (long pauses etc) but still would maybe be tough to get it to 2mins

First off,I actually really appreciate you trying to offer a middle ground,but much like what Ralph said,even if I did,it probably wouldn’t be enough.
I made this for the community and tried to enclude and use as many people as possible,so cutting out certain parts would kinda suck for whoever was in that scene. XDAs I’ve stated before before, I’ve already not done some things to meet the old deadline and to cut back the time,cutting off more doesn’t sound appealing. ;-;

In the end it wouldn’t be what I want it to be if I did that.I don’t mind still trying to find a middle ground,I already told Ralph if this counts and somehow wins something,if anyone has any actual complaints about the time,then I’ll give up the prize.

@ralph I updated the design of the Christmas Contest Badge, hopefully it’s to standards.

It should also give some insight into what colour to add onto the names of the winners, that being Indigo / blueish purple.
As a suggestion of course.

Could add a bit more popping shine to the badge, since it’s kinda “ooh I have a special event badge and u don’t haha I’m better” kind of thing lol.
But I’m guessing Ralph can always just do these type of things himself lol

It would look better if he were to add it himself anyway as I can’t really add lens flares and shines to the badge without making it look weird.
A good area to add the shines would be the letters, wouldn’t make much sense to add shine to the present alone considering it’s made of paper, cardboard and plastic.

Interesting perspective although wouldn’t that be limiting for what you could do, having to implement shines for every badge might make it look off, personally I prefer shine on metallic objects alone, a crown for example but anything else I wouldn’t consider metallic.

Make the edges of the box a little darker

Here’s both answers:
Text: I prefer it to be left with that subtle purple look to it, making it darker may ruin the texturing / detailing of the subtle dark and light areas.
Present: I did but with the 2020 over it it can’t be seen, I could adjust all of it to be darker but it’s not solid red, it’s got texturing and areas which are darker than others.

I can see the texturing, and it looks nice, but I feel its a bit hard to see. Try making the shadows darker and the highlights brighter to make it pop a little bit more.
And maybe around the edges, darken it so it feels rounded almost, idk, it just feels like the transition between background and present is very sudden.

also in my personal opinion, the fact that you and the judges moved the deadline just enough for the seasoned (and if we’re being real, de facto) winners to get their stuff done is kinda wack
I’m not evil and I wouldn’t wish the feeling of cramming stuff into a deadline on anyone but the fact that jack and people of his skill level are basically guaranteed a win for the third time in a row because the deadline shifted by the request of like one dude and his friends is uncool to me

not to be rude or anything, but i think even you understand this is a bit low quality in terms of the standards for the contest
it kind of almost plays like more of a slideshow rather than an animation lol
you need a bit more time and practice – up the FPS, practice movements, watch others animate on Youtube and learn techniques, etc – part of the point of animation is to be visually aesthetic and appealing, as a form of entertainment
