❓ 🚨 Question of the Day, DWD take-over ! 🚨❓

Recently I decided to make a post discussing the appeal for improved moderator capabilities and a way to allow the user-base to have more control in dealing with issues. On too many occasions drama spirals out of control and the most people can do is cry bloody murder, the only step above that being moderator’s abilities to flag posts for checking or to lock posts.

Whilst the current strategies have worked to varying levels of success, we can all see the immediate appeal for some sort of improvement to our systems to better ensure the site’s safety and avoiding unnecessary troubles. We have been lucky enough to not see any real harmful content, NSFW, Dark-web content and so on, however the threat is still ever-present. If we are to combat this, we need more people who can respond quickly allowing for potential bans to insensitive content.

I propose.. a Ban vote system ! 📵

🛃 The Ban Vote System 🛃

The idea is simple enough, users will take a vote put out either be mods or on some kind of board pin system( The details on this are not important currently ) where a predetermined goal of votes can be placed against or in support of a user receiving a ban, from there some process can occur in which a ban can be administered, either by a mod once enough votes have been reached or by an admin ( This, however, may be pointless in retrospect to why this vote system was suggested in the first place )

In the poll below there will be two vote settings..

✅ In favour of a Ban voting system
❌ Against a Ban voting system

Getting a collective set of results towards this, would prompt more widespread appeal for such a precautionary measure and might have a better chance at being considered for approval and creation by Ralph.

If we ever have more active users on the site and in general, I think it wise to invest in a system of sorts that allows for more of a process to suppress certain concerning individuals. We could have a vote system on a ban that could be created by a moderator, once enough people vote, something can happen and the details can be approved however they need to, in order to get the user banned.

You might argue that we could exploit this system, but if mods are trusted than that mitigates it reasonably I feel, not to mention mods would create the appeal to begin with. Waiting for an admin to return can mean hours of spam posts or whatever else and I think it would make the whole banning process way less stressful.

The same post keeps popping up from Local Moron, if you see it, I’d suggest avoiding it altogether, this is clearly an attempt for attention so I thought I’d let you all know in case you’re planning on taking it seriously and re-iterating prior points of discussion regarding this whole incident.
