This is a competition that tests the weapon-making skills of the SN Community.
Description
Users will be given a weapon to create, and they will have 10 days to make it. There will most likely be a total of 5 weapons this year. Our judges (Biscuit, Warlock, and InfiniteGuess) will base their scores on:
– Accuracy to Weapon / 10
– Weapon’s Functionality / 10
– Design and Style Points / 10
Rules
Next are the rules that must be followed while making the weapons and in the group as a whole.
1. Please make the weapon that was listed, not whatever you decide is right. Doing so will drop your weapon’s score to 0.
2. Lack of completion before the week results in no points.
3. One stick-figure per weapon. Accessories like sheaths are excluded from this and can be made separate.
4. Only stickfigures! This is not a test of one’s drawing or art skills, this is a test of their figure-making skills. Sprites will NOT be allowed, sorry.
Submission Requirements
– @ the 3 judges
– Name of weapon
– Description or lore if you made any
– Picture of the weapon with node counts
– File of the weapon
If you submit your figures to the stick page, we would appreciate it if the submission name started with “FC23”.
Once again, me and the judges wish you all luck this year!

First Week: August 15 - August 21Here we are, the start of this almost month long event. Let’s get right into it, shall we?
Weapon
This week, you all will be making a Longsword. It’s the first week, I’ll keep it simple. Let me either familiarize you or refresh your memory of just exactly what this weapon is. A longsword is a type of European sword characterized as having a cruciform hilt with a grip for primarily two-handed use, a straight double-edged blade of around 85 to 110 cm.Requirements
Like I said, this will be simple. The only requirements are:1. Must include sheath
2. One figure for sword, one for sheath.Everything else will be up to you. Me and the other two judges look forward to seeing your weapons, good luck all!

Can I do a unique theme, (sci-fi, steampunk, etc.) or do I have to stick to the olden days design

There’s only the two requirements, theme and design choices are up to y’all

Users can’t really join in the second week unless you want your first week’s score to be 0, meaning you’ll have a 70-80 point disadvantage. Apologies

Holy shirt his blew up overnight… I noticed some questions regarding different things, I don’t have much time but I’ll try to answer them.
Scoring and Criteria
I don’t know who else will be doing it, it has to be trustworthy and honest users, but two other users will be judging along with me. Basically, every point will be out of 10 points. As mentioned in the group description, your fine weapons will be judged by:– Design
– Predicted functionality of said weapon
– Style
– Node count
Since there will be three users, I’ll. make a private group for us to talk but we will judge a weapon, then do some
methmath and use the average of our three scores for the weapon. The scores from each week will be added up and then we’ll see who has the highest. I may allow the judges to participate as well, but like I said they need to be trustworthy. They can’t just give themselves “10/10” for everything and call it, that won’t be tolerated.I remember @tastylemon16 asking this question, hopefully I explained it well enough.
Weapons
I understand there was some questions about what weapons you all will be making. I want it to be a surprise for each week, but what I can say is that no handheld firearms will be included. I will accept, however, a gun infused into a weapon like a sword if there are no requirements. If you have any more questions, please ask and I will make a follow up post with more answers.
-
Node count isn’t that strict, like if you go to 384 but it clearly looks good, that’s ok but if you just use polyfill for everything that won’t be rated good. Try not to worry about it too much, focus more on the other four.
-
I’m confused, do we want more or less nodes?
-
Replying to:
Is it just to make it as detailed as possible with the fewest nodes possible?
-
Replying to:
…yes and no
If you max out on node but it actually looks good and the node usage was worth it, your score will be more or less high. If it was clearly rushed, and you max out on nodes but it looks really bad, your score will be affected. Sorry for any confusion
-
Replying to:
Probably a dumb question but could we say therefore that the node count straight up doesn’t count for simplicity’s sake and instead say there is a limit of how many stickfigures you can have for the weapon depending on the weapon itself?
There’s going to be some questions like these along with some more rules and loopholes to account for so possibly getting the judges along with maybe a mock-up weapon to start could be a good move.
It’s your call here and by no means would I say what I just suggested is worthy of being done, it’s your project and only you know what you can manage with it.
-
Replying to:
That would make more sense, the stick figure limit. Thank you, hope this post helped

Could I be a judge?
I would have an unbiased opinion cause I have no experience in weapons. Well I kinda do but only a little.-
Replying to:
I have to give it some thought

We all lost
-
Ohhh could I be a judge good sir?
-
Replying to:
Hmm. You seem to have decent knowledge with weapons, and as far as honesty that shouldn’t be a problem. Congrats, you’re the second judge!
-
Replying to:
Thank you my guy, I really appreciate this
