  • Let’s sorta step off the history part for a second.
What inspired you to make animations up to this day?
What inspired you to try stick nodes at all?
What is something you like about stick nodes?

    • Well I loved cartoons and I always came up with storys with huge plotlines and impossible odds.
I saw my brother making animations then I got into it. I first used SN in 2016. But I did not realize I was using it. I mostly used other, more crappy, animation plaforms. I fully got into it in 2017/18.

      I just stumbles upon it.

It is the MOST intuitive animation platform for mobile users that don’t have a PC on hand to make blender animations or SFM.

    • i looked up Pivot after playing with a very basic stickfigure-animation game on an old kids-game website

why? – i guess i just liked making the stickfigure flip around and be all wacky n shit

i also used to draw action-y comics featuring stickfigures as the characters (lol)

then i got banned from the DD / pivot forum and decided to make my own pivot with blackjack and ho-

  • Alright..
Arcionek answered and gave me a great story to read and I’m honored to be here to ask such questions.

I will be researching some parts of SN to log into the group.
If you would like to help me research, please ask.

Some things like how I started with animation I already adressed in the Q&A that my friend is editing for me, so I guess I will have that one for later lol.

But damn, where do I even start? I basically had animated for a long time since I was a kid, and after few up and downs in motivation and long breaks I found Stick Nodes while trying to find new software during summer break. Fiddled around with it during summer camp with random people, they were suprised at what I could do, they made crude caveman bench wanking anim on my phone (don’t ask, i facepalmed hard even though I was supposed to be immature as them at that age). Then stopped and moved to other stuff.

After that Amino ads were showing up everywhere so I decided to give it a try as socially anxious turd I was, still am. Was too scared to do any interactions with anything, even looking at posts on the few milion user amino that made me join… So I just searched up “animation” Aminos. Found few, saw Stick Nodes: Animation & more and went like “oh that app! That’s cool.” Fast forward my anxious ass was lurking and scared, seeing leaders there interacting and stuff, making my phone vibrate while I was asleep. One day I gave in and tried to post an anim I did after downloading SN once again. Then I did it again, got featured which motivated me and I kept on trying new stuff.

Fast forward, my dumb ass finally realised these Amino’s are lead by just fans and not some professionals. I ended up having my own amino with bunch of friends, then gave advice to Owner of SN Amino about leading stuff, as I already got a bit of experience and was observing a lot and seeing how community management works.
After short talk he gave me curator to help him out. Fast forward later, bots started attacking Amino and Brandon, the owner at that time was rather inactive, so to prevent potential attacks Brandon promoted two most active curators, and probably staff members to Leader position, including me. Brandon became active less and less, we were being short staffed despite some current staff coming back etc.

We were sometimes waiting like 4 months for Brandon to come on for 5 minutes or smth. It was just rare to see him, he had his personal life problems so couldn’t blame him. Current active stuff decided and they all agreed to put the Ownership to me since I was basically leading everything anyway and solving like… All of the big dramas in the best way possible.

While I thought it was cool, mainly things were more of putting work on me so others don’t have to do stuff-
So I became Owner and most staff were inactive- sucks.

During that Ralph added accounts in which I registered somewhere at that time but never used it… Well now I do as you can tell lol.

This post is kinda getting long so I will keep things short, as I dont remember much anymore at that point too-

Amino grew in popularity, I started being active on the site here too. around 2k members or smth, talked with Ralph, Amino became endorsed by him. Things kept going up and up, I was known as “Stick Nodes Wizard” or smth because kept trying to make new stuff in it, which others couldn’t come up with, toyed around with integral files and basically invented reskinning of Stick Nodes. Ralph saw it, was curious too, later on “skin” folders were added and stuff. Fast forward even more I found plenty of bugs in Stick Nodes I reported a lot, site code errors that most of them got fixed with the site update recently. Minecraft server in which people suggested me to be admin to help out. Then reddit came back on, became admin right away. It was just this slide of events that later on made me Admin here too after… Ironically, bot attacks here too.

        I made a full circle didn’t I?
