Replying to:late to the party but trump’s 325,000 children stat seems to be based on a report that ICE began transferring unaccompanied migrant children to the HHS (which they are required by law to do) but that many of the children either did not show up to their court hearings or they were not provided to them. this also goes back to the trump admin
whether that’s true or not (ICE disagrees with the report) this is a problem solved by better equipping our immigration agencies to deal with these kinds of problems, but trump in the clip above the tweet you sent, in addition to just sort of randomly guessing that they’re being trafficked without any evidence, seems to have either no solution or wants them to have been turned away and left in the environment that was supposedly trafficking them to begin with. ???

something interesting is that the main spark of y2k was from “the year 2000 problem”
basically, computers and tech back then used to use years as like, 2 digits for some reason, cutting out the “19” from “1900s”
so as they reached 1999(read ?/?/99), they started having like a panic, thinking the world was gonna end because the computers couldnt process the “00” and explode
so they created y2k (year two thousand), to solve all of this (which was basically just extending it to 4 numbers)
and then i guess people just decided to celebrate or something which is where all of the new y2k controllers and fashion came from
