(Formerly “python says things”)
This is a group that aims to educate the users of sticknodes about the anatomy of the automobile, things like drivetrain configurations, engine configurations, frame configurations, ect ect. (This is listed to be created by python a while back but he has me as mod on some groups and for some reason I can’t create any groups so yea)

Useless car fact #5: rebadging
Rebadging is not a new practice by any means, auto companies have been participating in Rebadging other companies cars since the 60s and earlier, the chevrolet 5500 and the international 5500 for example, they look the same except for the grill and logos, or the 1999 Isuzu rodeo and the 1999 honda passport, yes, even honda Rebadged cars. Or the holden commodore and the chevy ss, it’s not as out of pocket because chevrolet and holden are owned by GM, unlike the other Rebadges that are straight up competitors making deals just to get more money out of one car or truck. There are tons of other Rebadges but I can’t go through all of them. So here’s a very short list

Useless car fact #3: coachbuilding
In the 1800s there was a demand for custom built stagecoaches, but when the automobile became the most popular form of transportation, the coach building companies had to adapt to the automobile, thus, they took orders for custom built car bodies, since all cars back then where body on frame, they could just take the chassis of a car (with drivetrain, steering colom, wheels ect ect) and built a custom body to mount on the frame. The way they made said body was making a rough shape of the body (according to customer requests) out of wood, and then laying sheet metal over the wood, and shaping the metal over the wood making the overall shape of the car. Then they would ad the rest of the features (windows, doors, interior ect) and then mounting the body to the frame of the car. But once the unibody became popular, it was way harder for coachbuilders to work there magic. Thus killing the industry off entirely. Nowadays we have companies like LB works (liberty walk), but they don\’t compare to the swooping curves and soft lines of coachbuilt cars.

Useless car fact #2: unibody vs body on frame.
Unibody vs body on frame is the style in which a car is built. Body on frame is the oldest way of manufacturing a vehicle, because of its simplicity, acceling in offroad performance, towing capacity, and easier repair, however, body on frame cars lack the safety that unibody frame cars provide, although unibody cars are inferior in towing and offroading, they provide proper safety to occupants. Unibody cars where first invented in the 1920s, but didn\’t gain traction until the 1950s, and really became popular when the malaise era hit (higher gas and oil prices, which made big cars more expensive to own) in the 1970s. Because of this, cars like the cadillac eldorado and the chevrolet caprice either had to move to unibody construction or be discontinued all together. Leaving only trucks and semis to use body on frame construction. But later, in the 1990s, there where some cars trying to hold on to the body on frame configuration, for example, the impala, crown victoria, Lincoln town car, chevrolet caprice and buick roadmaster just to name a few.
Modern vehicles that are built with unibody construction are the honda accord and civic, Toyota camry and corolla, chevrolet impala (1999 to now), and some lightweight trucks and suvs. Modern cars that use body on frame construction consist of the chevrolet silverado, tahoe and suburban, ford f150, explorer and expedition. -

Useless fact #1: aspiration
A naturally aspirated engine is an engine with no forced airflow to the combustion chamber (no forced induction). This motor has less parts and is less expensive, but produces less power. But if you force air into the combustion chamber (forced induction), that would increase the engines overall power output. You can force induction by either supercharging or turbocharging your engine. Note: engine components might need to be modified to handle the strain from the increased power.
