We all love it when a Smash Bros. DLC comes out. You’ve seen your favorite characters like Steve, Ryu, Mewto, and many more take the stage to become your favorite contender. But what if your own Stick Nodes OC could fight alongside Mario, Sonic and Megaman? What if YOU could be part of the fun?
I'm Teo the Dan, and I'd like to welcome you to the Stick Nodes Smash DLC!
Here are the 3 steps to making your own pretend Smash DLC character.
1. Make an intro
Your Smash intro could be a picture, like most people do, or an animation if you so desire. You could do it yourself if you want, but if you don’t consider yourself great at that type of thing, then me or my one of my specially picked mods will gladly do it for you. Example:

2. Make a moveset
Same thing. Your moveset is made up of reusable, easy-to-use movieclips. Make an idle stance, then edit off it to make a variety of moves. Me and Voltage are our two best animators on the team. Scout is real good, too. You can always have us do it for you, but on occasion we may be busy, so be patient.

3. You’re done my dude
Use your moveset to make animations, share with other people through file sharing sites, and much more! Now get going my peeps!

Now you just need to animate,
Ground attacks:
jabs, ftilt(Iβm gonna assume that was your ftilt),(angled up/down optional) utilt, dtilt, fsmash,(angled up/down optional) fsmash charge(basically just 1 frame where it pauses to look like itβs charging) damash+charge, usmash+charge, dash attack.
Air attacks:
nair, nair landing(when you use it and land on the ground canceling the rest of the anim), Fair+landing, Bair+landing, uair+landing, dair+landing, special,(air variant optional) side special,(air optional) up special(air optional) down special,(air optional)
Grabs:
grab, dash grab, pivot grab,(grabbing during that skid animation when changing directions dashing.) pummel, ftrow, bthrow, uthrow, dthrow, grab release.
Dodges:
spot dodge, roll forward, roll backward, air dodge.
Tech options:
tech in place,(Iβm not gonna explain what teaching is.) tech roll backward, tech roll forward, wall tech, wall tech jump, ceiling tech.
Ledge options:
ledge grab, ledge hang, ledge getup, ledge getup attack, ledge roll, ledge jump start,(the anim that plays when you go up to jump from ledge) ledge jump end,(the end part of the ledge jump anim)
Crouching:
crouch from stand, stand from crouch, crouch idle, crouch idle item in hand,(optional)
Standing and walking:
turn, idle anims, fast walk, medium walk, slow walk, fall while walking left, fall while walking right, dash, run, run skid left, run skid right, turn during run,(I think thatβs just the out of skid anim) stop during turn while running, run to fall left, run to fall right.
Jumping:
jump squat,(mini jumps) jump backward, jump forward, double jump backward, double jump forward,
Footstools:
footstool jump,(when you jump off someoneβs head) footstooled air, footstooled fall, footstooled ground,
Falling:
tumble, regular fall, fall after last jump used, <βforward and backward variants, fall backward, fall forward, fall helpless(freefall) forward and backward variants. Landing:
landing helpless, heavy landing, light landing, missed tech face down, missed tech face up.
Missed tech options:
neutral getup face down, neutral getup face up, floor getup attack face down, floor getup attack face up, floor roll backward face up and down, floor roll forward face up and down, floor wait face down, floor wait face up.
Floor damage:
floor damage received face down and up, floor heavy damaged received face up and down,(I think this category is just jab lock anim)
Slipping:
slip, slip attack, slip while down, slip roll backward and forward, slip neutral getup, slip wait.
Grabbed:
grabbed by tall character, grabbed by short character, grabbed tall and short idle, pummeled tall and short, ground release, air release,
Others:
taunts, and I think just damaged received anims

For those wanting to know, teching is when you hit either a wall or floor, doing this can have two benefits, teching when landing (on a floor) allows you to tech roll, or tech in place. This essentially acts a roll or spotdodge the instant you hit the ground. Techning on a wall prevents you from bouncing off it, this can allow you to live stage spikes, which, against DK, is very helpful

For some reason a few days ago I was fighting a dk and he tried to stage spike me. I was spamming the button but it didnβt tech.

That happens to me, either you were to high percent, or you didnβt tech on the right frames, spam or no

there are like 27 frames to tech, its honestly very generous, dont spam it, just time it correctly, usually you can press the button just the moment you get hit since smash ultimate launching physics are fast as hell, I dont really think people need to make so many specific animations including tech considering you guys are not doing the whole game but just for animations so just the basic stuff would serve just fine
