If it costs money, though, I probably won’t

You should upload recordings of your app-making process to ur yt channel. I was thinking of making a super super simple app as a summer break project, and some potential videos and pointers from you could give me a good idea of what it’s like.

No costs involved, just your time. I suggest you go check out Unity and watch some tutorials on it. The channel I wish I knew about when I first started is: https://www.youtube.com/user/Brackeys
He makes by far the best tutorials, just go in there and pick some titles you might be interested in and follow what he does

He does do a far bit of 2D stuff too though, have a look at his game he made in 10 minutes, it’s a super hexagon clone
But try looking for a flappy bird tutorial to start yourself off with, there is a lot of them and the skills for moving and animating a character are transferable

Thanks sean, was reading some coding stuff in the past, didn’t really know where to go to, so this is definitely a good pointer. Thanks again. 👍

*insert 44 videos of 10 minutes of a screenview of Unity, unchanging, blinking cursor in the code editor, slight hum of a light in the background along with confused noises and softly whispered expletives*

Ralph’s right, this is exactly what you would see, in-fact I sometimes fall asleep in my chair just trying to solve a simple issue sooooo
Perhaps next game I will do something documenting my progress or what-have-you, can’t say it will be a video, but I may make a post about it and write down challenges I’m facing at the moment and how I plan to solve them/did solve them etc

Good touch with the shading, though I personally would’ve made it a smidge lighter
(If I had even thought to add shading) - Load More
