Almost all poactillians are not in the shape of humanoids, originally they were plasma beings living on an extremely hot planet. (which all life and heat on it is now extinct, will talk more about their home planet later) Because of this, most of them aren’t comfortable with the humanoid form. They instead choose this spider-like form which is much more comfortable because as plasma based beings they didn’t necessarily have any limbs, just gases used similarly like limbs. They moved around on their entire body .
