Ugh… I’ve been animating a bit more as of late, but I keep hitting a wall. I’ve been trying to animate the 3 main finishing moves of my character; Sword, knuckle, and kick (6 in total counting the overclocked versions of each). I was working on his sword finisher (25 FPS Non-tween,(not very experienced animating with either of those settings)) and no matter what I did I couldn’t get the slash right. It just looked and felt like he was hitting the guy with a blunt stick. Anyone have any advice?

Here’s my advice. DON’T make a fight animation. Try something new like someone traversing a dungeon or a hunter tracking an unusual creature
Mabey get rid of the impact frame
Are you using a slash effect when hitting the enemy up above? When stabbing the enemy have the person stabbing him and the sword go faster and maybe add a dash effect too
