As you get older you receive less gifts and eventually become the gift giver. Then if you live long enough, you get more and better gifts again in the form of longevity of life celebrations or personal vacation/take yourself out. (think “Happy 100!” or going out to dinner with your friends for your 40th)

+ Gifts don’t really have to be a certain quantity or be extravagant. This past Christmas I got clothes and money, and for my birthday a little more than a month later I just got money.
