On bluestacks I emulated SN Pro and it works amazing, except there is something that will cause me problems. This 512mb memory limit. It’s on mobile too and am not quite sure if it is an allocated memory limit put in by Android, or if you set that limit. I know IOS is clear of this limit (Which is shit) so I feel it is an android thing and certainly will be willing to go to rather unconventional methods to remove the limit and need a pointer. I already work with really heavy files and know I can handle more than the limit says.

the previous version of bluestacks is very slowProbably what my brother used where it was limited to only 1 core of processing power and no gpu acceleration I do believe. Complete garbage.
yeah
its set by Android unfortunately
Darkboy had found a way around it by using Memu, not Bluestacks
but also an *older* version of Memu
i really don’t get why these emulators don’t have a way to…emulate… a better device/memory limit per app
I was emulating a top of the line gaming phone but it still used my PCs complete specs. They should have broken the memory limit though. If there’s a way to modify or break that memory limit, I will do it. Cuase the 512mb limit gets chewed up quickly with my load. I will have to check out that memu cause I really just need memory. I undoubtedly will cut down the filters performance anyway. I just need that limit unlocked. Even on mobile since that is where I work most.
let me see if this works
*ahem*
@darkboyanimation
what version of memu is the good one
6.X.X cuz it gives you 500mb capacity while latest version gives like 200mb. I dunno why
500mb, that’s it? Nothing with more than that. Cause 500 is sad, I may as well just use bluestacks. Either that or just stick to my tablet for really heavy loads.
well tbh i tried other emulators, they all gave me 200+ mb capacity. so memu is kinda better
So after some research some emulators might aplow for edits to the Android Heap Size. If I were to root my tablet, I could likely edit this, do any of the emulators you tried have a setting for this? Bluestacks by default goes to 512mb. I might try increasing my RAM on it to see if it allows for more usage. But I don’t know if that will work. 4gbs tends to be 512mb and 2gb tends to be 252mb. Thing is my 3gb tablet had 512mb.
Hold up, I dont speak whatever language this is but is there anything to be pulled out of this to allow for more memory?
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/31709450/allocate-more-than-512mb-ram-on-android
yeah that’s basically all you can do
android:largeHeap=”true”
which is already enabled in the SN app
they mention getting into native code but that’s not really applicable for the way SN is build/the framework it uses
some devices seemingly have nearly unlimited memory, i mean people out here with 1500mb+ screenshots and idfk how lol
So if SN itself cannot be modded to do that, is it possible to mod my device to do that? I got no warranty so I am ready to root or whatever to unlock the limit of android in general. Cause seriously it really annoys me dealing with this limit. Even angers me more than the project node limit.
actually i’m unsure, i’d say yes probably as rooting basically allows you to do w/e with your device but a quick googling didn’t turn up results
i’m surprised the emulators don’t allow it or at a minimum just haven’t added it as a feature, seems odd
mayhaps ask on an android subreddit or something
that’s about the only good thing reddit is for
Certainly will have to check. If nothing, I’m going to each individual android software developers house to threaten them and blackmail them to change that memory limit.
