A little late to this and thanks for the info but my main question was ¨how long do these normally take¨ is it like 6 months? 3 years? that’s my main concern

@tastylemon16 if youve ever animated a really good animation like slick or someone, how long do those normally take, cause often I just give up after like 2 days if it takes too long and doesn’t look good

A really good animation comes from refinement, inspiration and just putting in the work little by little. To do a project in one day especially if you’re busy and got your life to live will drain your time and passion.
Chip away at an animation little by little, one step at a time, whatever you do on one day, do the next and so on. Consistency > Heavy work sessions
If you struggle to get started, follow the ‘ rule of three ‘, work on three simple things, it could be big, it could be as small as moving three parts. With any luck your next thoughts are how you could change those three things to make them look better, from there you just keep adding and adding because you want to, not because you feel you have to. A steady workflow comes from both of those things.
If you just want to make good animations use as much reference material as you can, take apart what it is that you want to do and storyboard it, get the main details and piece together the in-betweens. Add effects, sounds but keep it coherent and simple.

A lot to read but honestly there is a lot of detailing with a question as broad as yours.
Good luck
