Here are the characters I’ve created so far. The antagonists will be created later.

    First the students

Nick practices Vale Tudo. He has a desire to make friends but is too socially awkward to do so most of the time. The one person he can talk to is Seth, who Nick has taken a strong liking to. He enjoys comics, super heroes and action movies. He also reads manga after Seth introduced him to it. Nick is one of the most competent students at Action High.

Darius is a swarmer, a type of boxer that relies on head movement, speed, and a good chin* (chin is boxing speak for durability*). Darius is the apprentice of a retired legendary boxer Ricky Stone. Darius is highly competitive, always striving toward his goals. He obviously enjoys watching sports, boxing specifically. Darius is one of the fastest in class, if you don’t count Seth’s teleportation as speed.

Marceline is from the Blanchette family of French nobles. Long ago, her ancestor Alexia of France received the power to generate and manipulate gold. Marceline can turn her limbs into solid gold, adding more power to her attacks. She practices Savate, which is a type of French kickboxing. Marceline is snobbish and arrogant, constantly claiming her ability is superior to the rest of the class. Her abilities aren’t to be scoffed at though, she’s known as a prodigy with incredible talent. Her attitude doesn’t get her many friends as you might imagine.

Yang practices Shaolin Kung Fu. Yang is calm and quiet, always looking to resolve conflict peacefully. This guy has the patience of a saint, the only person who can make him angry would be Mitch.

Mitch has his own unique style, using a baseball bat and baseballs combined with his ability to control electricity and lightning. Mitch is loud, and confident. He came to the school to prove his way of fighting is a valid martial art. Despite his brashness, Mitch is surprisingly smart, and a natural tactician. He’s usually seen around Yang, Marceline, or his little sister Kim.

Kim practices Gongkwon Yusul, a Korean martial art. Kim has a short temper, and is protective of her older brother. The two are almost inseparable. Kim always wants to prove her strength, as she’s often underestimated as a fighter due to her stature. Taught by her father, Kim is adept at mechanics. Whenever Kim wasn’t with Mitch she was with her dad. The two went fishing a lot. Kim values family and loyalty over anything else.

Briella practices Capoeira. She’s extremely friendly, only ever angry when her friends aren’t getting along. She enjoys dancing, and music of any kind.

A couple more details for Seth and Fina

Seth is actually a highly competent leader, he only keeps to himself because of the secrets of his family.

Fina is absolutely boy crazy, currently crushing on a alternative pop-star, known as Cain Apocrypha.

    Now for the faculty.

Bruce Liang is a Wing Chun practitioner. He’s a retired action star, who started the school after seeing the lack of any in modern day cinema. The school was originally funded from Bruce’s wallet, but it’s now funded by Ms. Alexeev’s business.

Ms. Alexeev uses assassination arts invented by her family. She has the power to make her hands as sharp as a blade. Ms. Alexeev is strict and harsh with her teaching. Although a nicer side is shown when she’s directing the students, as she has a genuine passion for film.

Mr. Hans is a grumpy old man. He administrates the school. He was an old friend of Bruce’s.

That was lengthy but that’s the deets. Tell me if you have more questions.

I had Gacha uninstalled for a while, so I had to redo a couple a characters. I also added new ones.

The first is Seth. Although he might have a abrasive attitude at first, Seth is actually pretty insecure. Seth might be reclusive because of his family ties. He enjoys manga very much, but he doesn’t like reading it around other people with the exception of Nick, who he has a strong liking to. He has the power to summon a gigantic snake made out of some sort of dark magic. His fighting style is unique, utilizing a teleporting ability in a rush down speed based plan of attack.

    The second is Fina.
Fina is the opposite of Seth. She’s very extroverted and loves to be the life of the party. She’s made friends with most of the kids at the school. She enjoys pop music like J-pop K-pop etc.
She specializes in kung fu, with the power to generate and manipulate water.

    And lastly, the redesigns.

Bruce remains almost entirely the same.

Mitch had his torso and head made much neater.

My favorite redo so far is Marceline. Her previous design was more delinquent than delicate. So I made this to really emphasize that she’s a rich girl.

  • The Blacker The Berry is one of the most aggressive songs on the album.

The song is about black pride, as seen in lines like “You can vandalise my perception but can’t take style from me” and other lines in the hook where Assassin compares black people’s lives now to how it used to be when they first were taken to America, with lines talking about how whips left scars on his back and now he has a ‘big whip’ (a car) parked on the block.

In the beginning of Kendrick’s verse he says that he is the biggest hypocrite of 2015. What he means by this is told at the end of the song.

He’s a hypocrite because even though he tries to support the black community as much as he can, he still goes out in gangs and kills other black people.

The pure unapologetic flow of this song is straight cathartic.

Definitely one of my favorites from the album. You should give it a listen.

  • To Pimp a Butterfly is a genius album man.

The way K Lamar delivers his message makes it stick with you. It\’s not vague what he\’s saying but the lines and wordplay is subtle enough to make you want to go over a track again to get the full meaning.

The two poems are pretty beautiful too. Especially To Pimp a Butterfly.

I love how Kendrick handles religion in the track \”How Much a Dollar Cost?\”. It\’s not preachy but it\’s definitely pro Christianity and I\’m impressed with the way he did it.

Every track on this thing slaps, so it\’s really hard to choose a favorite. I find myself revisiting songs like U, You Ain\’t Gotta Lie, Complexion, and The Blacker the Berry a lot.

U is unique from the others from just how gutwrenching the melancholy is. Kendrick really knows how to convey strong emotion in a track, with audible sniffing and bottles clinking in the background. He truly sounds like he\’s breaking up in the song.

No spoilers but the interview at the end of the album is phenomonal with how well they did it.

If you think rap is generic, or bad, take a listen to this album. If you like rap and think it\’s great, listen to this album. What? You\’ve listened to this already? Listen to it again to make sure you get the meaning in all the songs.
