The Hateful Eight
What better way to start the most thankful month of the year, than by watching how Wild West Racism leads to mass murder?
That’s right folks, in this western directed by Quentin Tarantino, we follow Major Marquis (Samuel L. Jackson) in the late 19th Century, in Wyoming, where himself, a bounty hunter, his prisoner, and a supposed sheriff are trapped with four strangers in a mercery during a snowstorm. Among the eight individuals there are old scores to settle, and probably when the storm passes not all of them will leave the building alive.
this movie is basically Wild West Resevoir Dogs, plus the Tarantino Cinematography, along with his extreme usage of blood are oh so present in this film!
it gives a nice twist on the western genre, providing what is basically a tense 90 min standoff instead of the classical cheesy western, and it’s executed perfectly.
although if i had to nitpick about this movie, it would be that the first hour is incredibly slow, but whatever just get over it, this isnt an instagram reel.
