    🎬 Wannabe Outlaw's Movie Recommendation 🎬

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford is a 2007 American epic revisionist Western film written and directed by Andrew Dominik. Based on Ron Hansen’s 1983 novel of the same name, the film dramatizes the relationship between Jesse James and Robert Ford, focusing on the events that lead up to the titular killing. It stars Brad Pitt as James and Casey Affleck as Ford, with Sam Shepard, Mary-Louise Parker, Paul Schneider, Jeremy Renner, Zooey Deschanel, and Sam Rockwell in supporting roles.
Photography started on August 29, 2005, and ended in December 2005. Filming took place near Calgary, Canmore, and Edmonton, Alberta, and Winnipeg, Manitoba. To achieve the visual style he wanted for the movie, Dominik took influences from many sources, including still photographers, images clipped from magazines, stills from Days of Heaven, and even Polaroids. The original edit of the movie was envisioned by Dominik to be “a dark, contemplative examination of fame and infamy”, reaching more than three hours in runtime. This was opposed by the studio and the film was edited repeatedly.

And this movie… what can i say except for the fact that it’s just…. utterly perfect.
this movie. THIS MOVIE is a PERFECT recreation of life in the wild west and the story of Jesse James.
Now, the main difference between this movie and other films featuring Jesse James is how accurately he’s portrayed.
for example, in American Outlaws, Jesse and his brother are portrayed as young and witty gunslingers that fight for all that’s right, while giving away money for the poor.
in contrast, in The Assasination If Jesse James, Jesse is depicted as a noble fighter, sure.
but the difference is, this movie doesnt shy away of showing Jesse and His brother as the pair of bloodthirsty and brutal Outlaws that they were, while also diving into his backstory of being forced by his own mother to join the Confederate army, and the guilt that it caused him.
this movie is great at portraying all of the characters emotions, especially in the end with Robert Ford’s depression, and all the feelings that he endured for the rest of his life after shooting Jesse.
in short, this movie is simply beautiful, please watch it if you want to cry for a bit, it’s damn good at making you feel that.

    📰 Today In History... 📰
    The Conquest Of Boabdil!
On January 2, 1492, the Catholic Monarchs of Spain, Ferdinand and Isabella, seized the last Muslim stronghold on the Peninsula, and ousted the Nasrid King Boabdil from his kingdom. For centuries, schoolchildren across the vast Arab-Islamic world were taught that the loss of the Andalusian paradise was due to the decadence of the leaders of the Taifas (small Muslim kingdoms), who, through their laziness and corruption, had allowed the Reconquista to advance ever further in the recovery of the territories lost in the 8th century. For historians, it is precisely this profusion of alliances, pacts and betrayals that allowed Granada to survive for two centuries. The Nasrids remained in power longer than the Almoravids, members of the Muslim dynasty, whose armies had no adversaries.
