    Thinking of “Crow People” lore. Species name pending.
    Mainly how their “born” is that a Crow couple makes a scarecrow, raise it in a field of corn. (Corn is a traditional gift for their crow God.)

    A regular looking crow then flies down from the heavens, buries itself in the chest of the Scarecrow, spreading its legs and wings as wide out as it can. Then it waits to either die of dehydration or starvation. It’ll then grow and becomes basically an anthropomorphic Crow person.

    So heres my problem;
    The Malus Domesticus people, them being apples, plants are an integral part of them as a person and for their culture.
    Besides growing to the size of a person, what makes that special outside of them coming alive in a unique way? Also more importantly, why is it necessary? What was the evolutionary reason for this? The world does have magic and mystical stuff but it has to make sense.
    A mystical birth is cool but its completely unnecessary when you can just so easily say “Bird parents have sex, make baby”

    I want to keep the idea of this heavenly crow that dies but I NEED to justify it.

    • Dunno about the evolution shit but you could make it a way for angels and prophets of the “crow god” to come down to whatever planet this is gonna be on. Obviously this means that it’s probably gonna be super rare, which might not be ideal if these are supposed to be just normal animals you can find in the wild.
